I have a question for anyone who owns a 2015 GT Premium with the 50 Year Appearance Package. Is your car missing the lighted door sill plates as mine are? I read on another forum the 50 Year Appearance Package deletes them. Thanks in advance..

No, it wasn't I. Thanks for letting me know. Darn, I really wanted these! Can they be retrofitted with them? IE: wiring in place from the factory?

You can install illuminated sill plates if you so choose. I've been thinking about it, but I'm really not a modder and I don't really want to change any part of the car at all.

My mods are pretty much limited to appearance items and one thing that this car desperately needed, an exhaust!

Curious... Why would Ford remove a GT Premium feature like lighted sills from the 50th anniversary pack? It makes no sense to me. I mean the 50th is only available on Premiums. Yet another reason to not spend 1500 on it?

That's right, berserker_sid and Todd15Fastback; thanks! If you order the 50 Year Appearance package, the door sills are aluminum sill plate, not illuminated.

I've checked on this, Stingray Steve. Per my Mustang technical expert, the illuminated sill plates cannot be retrofitted to the vehicles. The electrical system is not configured to make them operable, although the wiring is present. There is no power going to the wiring.

As you can see, this has been a popular question. :)

I added these to my 2005 Mustang even though they weren't even an option back then. Just a little modification by running a wire and tapping into some power. I guarantee someone will mod and post the directions pretty soon for the 2015.

The wiring is in place. Roush has some nice lighted will plates.

Sounds like a challenge! :)

Can you get the part number for us Rachel? I'll bet I can make them work. :)
