So I went today to a few Ford dealerships and Car Max to see what’s the best offer I could get for my 2010 Mustang V6 premium vert. This is what I got so far. I told the following ford dealerships that I’ll be using x plan and they are okay with it.
Local Ford dealer: $10,000 haggled to $11,000
Ford dealer #2: 12,000
Ford dealer #3: 9,500 haggled to $11,000
Car Max: $6000
Sometimes I change the odometer unit to Metric to get a better sense for the outside temp since I’m from a country that uses Metric system. It happened that the local dealership didn’t pay enough attention to see the odometer reads kilometers instead of miles when I went there to have them change the oil. That was about 2 years ago. The next oil change I told the guy that the little service sticker (the one they put on the corner of the windshield) was wrong and I asked him to change that in their system too. He agreed to fix it.
Today I found out at Car Max when they pulled AutoCheck that my car has an odometer discrepancy report. That’s why they offered me $6000. Such a waste of driving 2 hours to get there and 2 hours to get back.
I already emailed AutoCheck about the problem since they are closed now and I’ll call them first thing on Monday to see how to fix this.
Should I blame my local dealer for this hassle, time waste, and the loss of potential sale? Do you have any suggestion on what to do?
Thanks.
