I noticed yesterday when unlocking my doors with the key fob that my passenger side switchback wasn't blinking with the other one. Upon closer inspection I saw that it fell out!

I spent about a damn hour fishing it around with a stick and trying to pull it out from the base with a pair of needle nose pliers. Jesus that was an infuriating tedious process. I really thought I would never get it out and contemplated baking the housing open.

I finally got it out and tried plugging it back into the base, but it came off again with the slightest tug, so I ended up taping everything together with electrical tape.

Hopefully this should keep it secure for a long time. I do not want to go through that again.

Just a heads up for anyone installing these to use some electrical tape just in case so you wouldn't have to go through what I did.

Thanks! That's good info. I've got a set that should be showing up any day now and I'll be sure to apply a little tape.

I've contemplated doing that. I read that another guy went through the same thing you did. I think I may pull them out tonight and do it. It wont take long and it'll give me a piece of mind.

They did, but it depends when you bought the bulbs as the design has changed slightly a few times.

But they 100% will ship you a new set if you contact them.

But a little tape you cannot see wont hurt anything honestly as most wiring in the car is held together with tape too.

I wonder if heat shrink tubing would hold better than tape. the glue on the tape can come lose when it gets warm

I think they are having quite a few problems with their design since they stopped selling them completely. Hopefully they get a revision out soon.

I think when you plug the new bulbs in, you'll find you don't need tape. I bought mine after the design change and they fit snug. I've never had an issue with them.

I hadn't heard that. I just order a set last week and they are in the mail.

We have made several revisions to the design to improve their fitment. The bases of every single bulb are all modified and tested specifically for the 2015+ Mustang's socket prior to shipment

We encourage you to contact us directly if you need any troubleshooting tips or warranty assistance: (314) 205-3033

Thanks,
Nick C.

Same problem happened to me...I actually had no idea it fell out I just assumed it burnt out so I called DD and they are sending another set. Now that I know it wasn't burnt out it just fell out I plugged it back in but will swap mine for the new ones they sent to be sure this doesn't happen again.

How did you manage to get the bulb out?

Extendable magnet works wonders..took 30 seconds to grab the back metal connections and pull it out of the light fixture :)

Do you have the link to their store page where you ordered?

This is where I last saw them, but you can't actually order them anymore...

http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/...switchback-turn-signal-led-kit/category/1444/

This is the Mustang category and the switchbacks are nowhere to be found:

http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/listed-by-vehicle/ford/mustang-ecoboost.html

If you bought them from AM or another reseller let me know how they fit when you receive them, I was hesitant to order them there since I figured they might be selling older versions that they still have in stock.
