I like to think I have the happy medium - a 1" drop courtesy of the Ford supplied Eibach springs (available from the dealership).Better than 4x4 look. ;)
2 finger gap is where height should be and those Ford springs pretty much put it right on there, but agreed lower can just make a car look too heavy. I totally hate the air suspension stuff when parked, just to me looks broken.
Some truth to the "4x4 look" statement, it's not until you see you own car in the flesh next to a lowered car, do you realize just how high the front end is! I'm not a fan of the super low with no gap look either...
It became a "must have" mode for me, & it doesn't only help with aesthetics but its a world of difference when you're throwing it around the corners
