Just noticed my gear bezel just says 'Sync'

Anyone else find this?



The car I test drove had 'Sync by Microsoft' on it, and was a 2015. Obviously we don't get Sync 3, but I'm wondering if they just changed the bezel ring part for our Mustangs too, to the 'Sync 3' one.

Not that I'm sad to miss a Microsoft logo...

Also, I've got a big Shaker logo just in front of the gear knob, but I don't have a Shaker stereo system... I even checked the trunk :lol:

I'm just wondering what everyone else has in theirs!

I think both systems are 'shaker'... One with 12 speakers and the sub, and the other with 9 (?) and no sub...

But yeah mine says sync too... It is a 2016 - they are just ramming an old sync2 in it

(since we're jot getting localized version anyway I feel kind of ripped off - because all the Germans Italians Fenchies and whatnot are holding me back )

I have the 12 speaker system and got the white printed shaker logo but i don't know what the bezel says.

I also noticed that I don't have the aux input that the Sync 2 had in the US.

(Our Sync is localized to swedish, but with english speech recognition)

You do. All Premium are Shaker systems with different number of speakers.

I have the same Sync logo on my gear bezel BUT my shaker logo is in white. Wonder if that's how the 9 & 12 speaker system is distinguished as I have the 12.

Australian cars have the white Shaker logo, however the 12 speaker set up is not available here (we all get the 9 speaker version by default with no option for upgrade).

Maybe Microsoft was so pissed off by Ford leaving them that they banned any further use of their logo.

Although more likely Ford decided to use only the word Sync as of the 2016 models so they don't have to continue making the old part for export markets.

Strange. Even when you order custom pack?
Shaker Pro is ALWAYS included when you order premium/custom pack.

We don't have the custom pack option over here.

Our cars come with most of the premium package, but the Shaker Pro isn't available.

Don't worry. Always will be a simpler reason:

Most probably the chinese factory did a mistake for this batch
Ford didn't want to loose money....

I checked in my car (also a 2016) and it's the same: Sync only.

I think it's very possible this was done so that the same bezel can be used on SYNC2 and SYNC3 cars.

from a/my 2016. ya'll over overthinking it. The 2015 has SYNC by Microsoft, because Microsoft made it. 2016 has SYNC because Microsoft doesn't make it, it's just QNX. It's also a thousand times better than the shitty old system.

Are you telling us that there are two versions of Sync2 with software differences? I didn't know it.

I thought all Sync2 are the same.
