Orginal plan was to only leave car at parents while away but now been there 4/5 weeks without moving. As im not sure what the standby drain on the battery is, do we think im going to need jump leads when i pick her up?? Anyone else left their car for 4 weeks without moving?

You need an Optimate trickle charger. We all use them for keeping the battery up over the winter.

I have jump leads in my car, pretty much leave them in the car nowadays after the battery crapped out numerous times.

You can either unplug the battery, or, just jump it as the cheap options.

The slightly more pricey is a trickle charger if you have access to conspiciously hide this unles car is on the drive.

some cars manage 4+ weeks unmoved, others don't. So who knows :p!

I left mine under its cover for four weeks untouched during and after Christmas whilst I battled with the Cold From Hell. Started without any problem after the Sync3 screen said that it was emerging from low power mode or something similar (can't recall the exact display wording). I do have a set of jump leads and trickle charger but not used on the Stang.

Can’t you get your parents to start it for you?
Seems the logical explanation. But just starting it without driving will probably do more harm than good to battery (and I don't trust them not to crash it and they're not insured) plus i didn't leave them the keys :D

Started my Mustang when battery so flat I had to use the emergency key to open the doors and went through the rear seats to get the jump starter from trunk.

Only takes a couple minutes at most to remove the negative lead from the battery, I do it every time when it goes into hibernation. Spring time rolls around, she starts like I ran it yesterday.

Mine started no problem after a 4 week rest over Christmas and the New Year, lights flashed and doors opened no problem, then started right up

Don’t think the insurance company would be impressed if it was to get stolen
