Hi everyone!

I need from you detailing Guru's!!! Thanks in advance for your help!

So, when I was out of town, I took my car to a detail shop to have it washed, clay bar'ed and waxed. I took the car to this particular place because my friend who takes his show room car to them. Well my experience was not that great and I am too far away to go back to claim anything. (I did it while out of town)

Now that I gave you a little background, I want to know If anyone in the forum can help me to get rid of wax striking marks on the black trim on the edge of the door. The marks are also visible on several plastic parts around the car. One of them being the plastic bezel around the side view mirror. I attached a picture of the door.

Thanks again for any suggestions...

I've read posts from people saying an eraser works well for this.

thanks for the idea, my fear is to leave new striking marks while trying to get rid of the current ones. I was wondering if there was a solvent that will take the wax out without damaging the black piece...

I may try the eraser in a very small spot, as a last resort...

Thanks for the links, I think I may try the simple green and brush first and see what results I get.

Thanks!

Try goo gone.
Also if you have tar remover, let it sit and soften the wax and then remove it.

Any good degreaser will take this off. For the trim I use Adam's Tire and Rubber cleaner which takes wax dust off the trim with some brushing. One that part of the trim, any good degreaser and a toothbrush will work wonders.

Goo gone might be a bit much, you could even use a household degreaser like dish soap with a toothbrush and some hot water. It'll clean that right up.

After that wipe that part down with a good detail spray since any cleaner/degreaser is going to dry that out.

Why complicate it with more chemicals? Use a pink pencil eraser. Will work great the first time, and won't damage anything. Will literally take less than a minute to see results.

thanks guys!

After washing the car, I used quick detailer a microfiber towel and little pressure and it slowly came off. But!!!! do not apply too much pressure. It will damage the finish on the trim. I did that in a small part behind the side view mirror... thankfully is not super exposed, so I can live with it.

Thanks for all your recommendations!!!
