Finished (ish) painting some covers for another owner.

Customised the 5.0 badge, just need to lacquer it all and put it all back together.

*in most photo's paint is still wet lol.

Also commited a cardinal sin.... Fog eyebrows, whatever the heck they're called, arrived from V8_MOTOR a week or so ago, and i've scuffed it up and painted them black as carbon didn't quite look right next to all the other bits. They're only black none lacquered at the minute.

Nice work Steve. Will have to send you my engine covers sometime.

By the way, where did you get the fog eyebrows from and how will you install them on the car?

Post these photos on the Mustang Europe group on FB as well. I think a lot of people will be interested in your work!

Today was a Mr & Mrs effort

Me:
I fitted the GT350 Gear Change knob that I got from welsh treg

Mrs:
Whilst out shopping, she spotted a load of material with S550 Mustangs on, so she's make me a custom bag to put the Tonneau Caps in:

Each cap lives in a little padded compartment.

Much better than them sitting in the plastic bags they came in!

Just in time for our Euro road trip next weekend!

Your wife's not thinking of going into production with these is she?
(If she is - put me down for one please!) :clap2:

antijam - I'm afraid it was a one off. If SWMBO changes her mind (and can get the material again) I'll let you know

Refitted the rear stock disc as I think its the rears causing most of the warp/vibration sensation, shall know over next couple of days if that is the case.

Swapped fronts to rears, to even out tread wear and washing wheels

Fitted the dreaded covers. :D

Super clean Sunday :)

Epic cleaning session today, first "proper" clean of the GT, included a full clay bar and a coat of wax. Probably a good 6 hours all in - loved it!

Paints wet, so blobs are there, they then get sanded down to remove any bobbles from drying, as the details are hand painted. NOT SPRAYED/AIR BRUSHED. Pictures are 'Work in progress'. They're stuff no painter (professional or otherwise) would generally share, as they look shocking without a lacquer. It's much like a magician revealing their secrets, somewhat ruins it.

The buyer of these, loves them, so each their own. I've got a video call with her tonight to show her the painted plastics and make sure she's okay with them before I TWO PAC (Wtf is three pac?) lacquer them to bring them to a high gloss, glass like finish.

They weren't painted on the carpet, they were painted on my desk, which I use for painting (Separate to my desk with has my computer on), if you're judging, it's an old throw away desk from a school which I've had for years (literally about 15-16 years) and only gets used for that.

Pictures on the carpet as it's a somewhat pale background, and then against a black background.

Indeed, should be starting lacquer coat one tonight on both the fog eyebrow thingys, and all of her parts, should bring them up nicely.

Ruby red's a bit of an odd paint, to paint, as it's two part (Ground and top coat), grounds a dark red with a light metallic flake. Top is a high metallic flake, light red tinted clear coat. Can't see it well at the moment, but whacking lacquer over metallic flakes always brings them up leaps and bounds.
