I saw some thread on this but no detail as to where to cut, etc.

Has anyone cut their premium rear valence to fit quad tips?

I bought quad tips to do this as well, I'd like hear how for DIY but I'm taking it to a shop since they'll have the proper tools.

I foresee removing the OEM valance, going to an exhaust shop to put the tips on, then going to a body shop to trim the valance accordingly.

I figure might as well risk the valance since we'd have to cut the bumper anyways for the GT350 or roush quad tip valances.

it is not that hard. I did mine my self with no problems. Cj Pony parts has the best videos. [ame] [ame] Basically you remove the black cover and cut the lower painted part from the upper part where it connects. you can use the molded curve to guide you.

If you haven't already bought your exhaust I personally would go with the Ford Performance by Borla Quad tip Exhaust. There is a lot less cutting and it just looks better to me with the GT350 lower valance. Also you keep the rear brace if you have a convertible.

My bad, I meant I'm going to try and enlarge the current dual openings wider to accommodate quad tips... like this:

I might try this as well. I cut out my front grill, and the plastic material sanded up to a really nice finished edge. FWIW, I'm running a Solo II Thunder exhaust setup, my car has the Premium rear valence setup.

[edit]

OK, in looking at it - a set of dual tips that just split the difference on the outlet (like the Stang Mods product) won't work, because the tip exits offset to the inside.
