This pickup was setting in a field with a tree growing through the floorboard. We thought we could save it, although it was in really rough shape. It was a long bed truck and we cut the bed and frame down to make it a short bed. The donor car was a Camaro (pictured below) and we used the subframe, motor, transmission, rear axle, tilt steering wheel, hanging pedals, brake booster, wiring harness, etc... on the truck. The brakes were rusted to the drum leaving us to use a skid steer to push it into the shop.

It was built as a daily driver for me (not a show truck) and we added Vintage heat and air, a nice stereo, and tinted flat glass. The bed was finished off with stainless steel strips and oak flooring. The paint on this one was Candy Apple Red Lacquer. In the cab we kept the OEM look by refinishing the gauges, polishing the stainless trim, and replacing the white bucket seats :) with a newly upholstered bench seat. I drove it for several years before letting it go.
