I don't understand your confusion, does your seat base drag across the floor of the car? If not, it sounds like you don't understand what a floor mat is.
A number of Mustang sites sell mats and have plenty of pictures to help you out.

I personally think the taller side wall of an 18 looks good. 20s with thin side walls remind me of a reality tuner show.

I guess it depends on how you look at it. There is a .3 displacement difference, other than that they are DI 4 cylinders with tiny turbos and 6 speeds.
Not sure where the fueling comment is coming from and same gearing still means the 4 is spinning faster than the 8. And it is still too close...
Based on my experience with the focus ST I would say go with the GT for a couple reasons.
1. They're too close in performance, the Mustang has 30-40 hp but also weighs a few hundred more pounds.
