Its my first winter owning a mustang (2018 GT for reference) and noticed this morning I had a relatively small (~2” diameter) spot underneath the front left hand side of the engine. I drove it yesterday evening for the first time in about a month since it was nice out. It was around 70 yesterday...
Yep! That's my plan once I get my E85 tune.
As far as your question goes, I'm still NA so I don't have any insight on boost + E85. But there are plenty of threads on here that could give you some direction.
UPDATE:
I rerouted the charger along the windshield and connected the terminals in a way the hood can be closed. No more 2x4 propping the hood for those who were so appalled by it lol.
Short answer is yes, a new tune file would replace what you have now.
Would you be going backward? That's subjective.
If you are already dyno tuned for pump gas (i.e. 93), then I probably wouldn't seek out another 93 tune from a different tuner unless you are unhappy with the results of your...
I'm using a SCT X4. Most tuners use that, HP Tuners RTD, RTD+, MPVI2, and/or AVID.
As far as tuners go there are a lot of companies that can make and send you a tune you can flash from the device itself. Some for example are Lund, Shoemaker, Wengerd, PBD.
I am planning on getting an E85 tune in the spring once the weather warms up. I have seen contradicting discussions on what is needed/suggested to run E85.
I know gen 3's don't necessarily need any supporting mods to run E85, other than a tune that is. I am just wanting to hear yalls personal...
Im sure in most cases it would be fine. However, a guy I knew had the hood on his S550 (somehow) not close right after leaving it propped open for ~4 months.
Might’ve just be an anomaly, but I guess there’s a first time for everything lol.
Ordered the eyelet cables for the charger. Going that route and foregoing the prop/alligator clips so I can just leave the hood popped instead of propped open.
Definitely still have the prop rod. Didn't want the hood all the way open and the rod holding all the weight of the hood for a long period of time, that's where the 2x4 came into play.
I do plan on getting the struts sometime soon though, would be nice to work on the car without the prop in the...
OR mentioned doing that too, but probably going to take the route Sparky mentioned and move it to the fuse block so I can close the hood and forego the prop.
Winter weather has been hanging around and with not driving it much lately, I hooked up the trickle charger to keep the battery from draining. I didn't have anything better to use to prop the hood so I'm currently using a ~10" 2x4.
Anyone have a better suggestion? Knowing how heavy these hoods...
