I took my Bullitt to the Ford dealer yesterday and they replaced the shifter. The ball was broken inside which allowed to shifter to rotate and created thew issue with catching reverse instead of first. Everything else was fine and now the shifter is tight and gears engage as they should. Thanks...

I will request the part back since it is not covered under the powertrain warranty naturally and will post photos...

Based on the overall condition of the vehicle it does not appear that any modifications were made. The shifter looks stock to me. I will contact Ford and see what they think. Thanks for the reply.
