I had a U.S. 2 door 1962 Valiant here in Australia. I imported it from Vancouver Washington. The U.S dash/instrument panel is different as is the push buttons for the auto trans selector. The Australian version had the dash and buttons from the '61 Valiant.
It depends on how they connected it. Some people just bare the wire and pull a fuse out and jamb the wire under the fuse connection as they push it back in. This can cause a poor connection and overheat the connection, often melting the fuse. I have seen this a lot. The installer is probably not...
As an Auto Sparky, I can tell you that 95% of the time it's the fault of non factory accessories that cause issues with the vehicle. Usually poor wiring or installation.
Does anyone change their engine oil before the 15K Km interval? I plan to do mine at 5,000 Km regularly. The Coyote V8 has Aluminium bearings which are very susceptible to the acids found in used engine oil. I will run 5W40 instead of the 5W20 that Ford recommend. The 5W40 is used in the Shelby...
The condenser is in front of the radiator. it's the evaporator that is inside the car.
The only problems I have had with my car (so far) is the levers in the back of the front seats were very hard to operate. The dealer has fixed this issue and they now work perfectly. The bonnet/hood is not...
CJ Pony Parts sell the Roush struts. The Roush struts have better mounting brackets. Cheap stuts fail after a while, quality ones last a lot longer plus thay have a cushioning effect at the ends of the stroke...
I wouldn't put those cheap ones on my car. For a start they are probably poor quality gas struts plus the mounting brackets don't look very substantial. I think the Roush ones are the best. Properly engineered.
I gat the same car back in early December (ordered in February). I put the strut brace on mine, which is missing from the Australian cars. I also plan to replace the bonnet strut with some Roush gas struts. Nice Car!
Fitted my Strut Brace. Thanks to John for the spacers. Removed the negative battery cable retainer clip and replaced it with a clip from a Caterpillar.
If you got room for them, I'd keep them. You'll get nothing for them now but in the future all that original factory correct stuff will be worth good money. History proves this to be correct.
Ordered my first mod. Bought a strut tower brace for my California Special. Managed to find the correct one on E Bay. Next is a pair of bonnet/hood struts. The Roush ones seem to be the best (better bracket design and sturdier mounting).
