See lower left "Wheel Hop" function - under Torque Management tab, it is "enabled" in 1st & 2nd gears. This remains enabled regardless of TC mode. There are some U-tube videos by Jake Tiesler, Mustang and Automotive News doing 0-60 runs in May '22
where you can see this working in real time.
The TC was all the way off. The throttle cut back is coming from the wheel hop control programming. Do you need to see that section of the transmission control to believe it?
That is not something they want known!
See attached excel data. Note the low acceleration in 1st gear (torque modulation) then the tires slip/wheel hop when it shifts to 2nd. Then the throttle cuts back to 52% and car loses a bit of speed. Next it shifts early, ~6440 rpm into 3rd gear. 0 - 60...
The computer monitors the transmission output shaft speed for rpm oscillations at a frequency that qualifies as wheel hop. When it detects this frequency it cuts the throttle for one second to stop the wheel hop. This function remains active even in track or drag mode with the advanced trac off...
My issue is the poor 0-60 acceleration with M1 & A10 trans, due to wheel-hop & torque management. Torque In 1st gear is limited to about 67% in any mode. Then when it shifts to 2nd it spins a bit and the wheel hop management detects this and cuts the throttle to about 50% then it shifts early...
Those numbers come from a data log - see attached file. Took awhile to figure out what was going on.
In 1st gear it is simple math to check the acceleration which shows the torque modulation.
Then you can see when it shifts from 1st to second it spins, then the throttle cuts back and shifts...
You may be disappointed in the acceleration with the A10 as the torque is modulated to about 67% in first gear -even in drag mode. Once it shifts to second it gets full torque, wheel hops and cuts back the throttle to about 52%, then shifts early into 3rd, even with the advanced trac off.
22 with A10, just over 3k miles total, live in country with few stop lights, mostly highway driving 24.6 avg since new. Cracks 30 mpg @ 62 - 65 mph on highway on 2-3 hour trips. 91 octane.
