I took pictures from where my eye would be during regular driving, so this is what I see when I glance at the mirror. Top down - Top up - I'd say the soft top obstructs more view in the back than the bar.

Correct, you'll need to cut into the plastic panel. As gone_n_60 said, it doesn't obstruct the view in the mirror. Top up or down - there's no visibility issues at all. I'll post comparative pictures in the next few days.

Just a heads-up on the roll bar - when Watson Racing ships it it's not primed or painted. It arrives in a dull grey color with flaking paint. I'd recommend taking it to a paint shop and having them prime it and then paint it. It cost me ~$300, but the gloss black paint matches the PP wheels...
