They installed a new long block so not sure on what parts failed. The oil filter was seized so they cut it off. It was full of metal shavings.

Runs and drives great. I intend to run at least 91 octane fuel. I don’t know that 87 octane created a problem but I’m not taking a chance again.

Runs perfect. I haven’t stretched it out much yet but looking forward to that.

Got my car back on Friday 9/17. Ford and my dealer did an excellent job of expediting the process.

Update 9/1. So, all of the parts, including a long block, have been ordered. The oil cooler is on back order until at least 9/27 so I am still a long way from getting the car back. Disappointed is a mega understatement.

I met with my Ford dealer today. It looks as if my case may be expedited and I am very hopeful of getting a new engine if everything falls into place. The correct people were at the dealership today which really worked in my favor. We will see. I will continue to keep y’all informed.

Well, that’s depressing. The responses I’m getting vary all the way from getting a new car to I have no say in the matter.

My Ford dealer is very reputable, however their service department has grown exponentially in the last two years and I have no idea how the new hires play into that.

If the tick is a DI thing why do so many people say adding higher viscosity oil elimintes it? Are they just delirious?

Well I’ve bought 3 mustangs from this dealership so I’m hoping for better than average results. Not off to a great start but they’ve been great on previous warranty issues with my other cars.
