My point exactly. After each engine they switch and each gets chance to be primary builder. Two knowledgeable craftsman. On 5.4 and 5.8 two names on each plate. Teamwork. One name, one guy forgets to add tensioner and oooooooops.
Checked this with some of the guys on the Ford GT forum and there has been a good bit discussed on the subject of "who built your engine?". It was not a situation of one builder and one "gofer". The niche line did a team build with two expert craftsman builders per engine. As a result of that...
On a much simpler note, I tried to order them from my FP dealer and not available yet. Better luck to everyone else. I saw the CF hood vent in Charlotte at gt500 track attack. Looks good.
Goose, thanks big time. I got the recall letter and was just going to wait until they called with parts. My dealer did not even know to order the parts which are due in 14 days. Simple fix per your video thankfully. Great video and information. Thanks, KO
For what it is worth, the Ford GT 2005-2006 actually calls for holding the gas pedal to the floor as described which disables the fuel pumps and then cranking over until you get oil pressure. That car has a dry sump and all of the new oil is in the tank. I have not changed the oil yet in the...
On my video I also hit 135 max and the car was still going but I was at the 4-5 braking marker and had to get on the binders. I did not get any feel that the car was limited by anything other than me.
I used some husband points and made this event Friday and it was just great. I’d done the boss track attack out in Utah before and this was much better in large part due to the car. I strongly recommend this for everyone even if you’re an experienced track driver. Thanks to Ford for having it...
That's awesome. I will just miss you as I registered for the 10/29-30 class. I have got to get in some seat time this weekend in my car to get ready. I have not even gotten in a hundred miles yet. Got to hurry before the next Hurricane comes by. KO
Goose17, thanks for the info and posts. I did the Boss track attack school out in Utah and it was great. Got registered for GT500 program in October and really looking forward to it. Thanks, KO
The CF technology has certainly taken over and there are several cars that are much more deeply invested into it that the GT500 and GT350R. Multiple cars including the newer Ford GT have CF tubs if I am not mistaken. Significant weight savings even over AL. Can you imagine that car with the...
I totally agree with buying spare parts for your cars even if they are very expensive. Who knows the way these wheels will go but for the moment they are limited and expensive technology. I bought spare sets of wheels for our Ford GTs, both types and they are still costly but readily available...
