Man this thing rips! Love it! Drives like it's supposed to, nothing special when just cruising, but when you get on it, super cool noises and great acceleration!
We have done that, but obviously the size is restrictive. It's sending it into limp mode in the middle of the power band and throwing a torque code error.
For anyone that has done this swap, we're looking for help with the throttle body. Stock GT500 TB won't work because Gen2 uses an analog signal vs a digital signal on the Gen2. We've got a Hellcat TB and have repinned it to work Ford's connector, but still no luck.
What throttle body did you use? We've got a Hellcat TB, but it's not communicating with the ECU. We repinned it to match up with the Ford plug, but still no luck.
This is the blower on a gen 2. We had to mill a little off the heads to get the blower to fit. Stock GT500 timing cover, stock crank pulley, stock fuel rails and injectors, Whipple heat exchanger. The issue we are running into is with the throttle body. Because of electronics, stock GT500 TB...
Supercharger does not clear the DI rails on the Gen 3. You would have to fabricate some kind of spacer to give the clearance needed. Fortunately, Sai Li makes a delete kit that blocks of the direction injection ports so they can be removed. From there we can just use the stock port injection...
This sounds like the best solution. I have a Fore return system that was on my 2017, so it may be that I can update my fuel rails to the Gen 3s and tie them into the DI pump. It looks like a custom solution is going to be the way to go here.
Yeah, that's my concern. I have seen some builds where they have disabled the DI, so I don't know if that's an option. I don't know if it can be tuned out, or if you have to go with an aftermarket ECU like Holley or Fueltech.
Thanks man. I've had a lot come up in the last few months that have prevented me from starting on it. Question is, I want this to work on my Gen 3, but the fuel rails from the predator are port injection only. I wonder if this limits the install to Gen 2 engines?
I have a Procharger D1-X that came off my 2017, so if I wanted 900hp, I already have the system to do it. This is just something cool that we want to build.
They are Ford Performance. Fortunately, I pay an extra $6 a month for the wheel insurance, so I will be using that to replace the front passenger wheel. They had less than 2000 miles when I noticed the paint start to peel away.🤦‍♂️
