I get it, I'm reasonably confident there won't be long term side effects from this vaccine either. But I also think it's reasonable for people to be wary of this one as it is a new type of vaccine, and it's a very understandable, very human reaction to be wary of something created in a new way.
I meant it in the sense of agreeing with government and health officials providing said advice, but not agreeing with government mandated actions in accordance with that advice.
To your questions about ignoring those people, I just might. It would depend on the situation, I might just be...
Look, I've already said I don't think we'll see any substantial negative long term effects from this vaccine. I just don't look down on people who are concerned about the possibility.
There are people who have a similarly vanishingly small possibility of dying from Covid, why is the...
I'm sure we could all find tons of instances where the FDA has approved a drug or treatment only for it to be discontinued after long term data indicates it can have adverse reactions. It isn't unreasonable to be wary of a newly approved vaccine because you are unsure if it will have similar...
The difference, though, is in the time frame for study. We all know this one was pushed through faster than the norm. I'm not at all saying it hasn't been studied, but the time frame for study is different from other vaccines. That is different.
You just said long term data is not needed.
Do you think it's reasonable for an average person to be uncertain about a newly produced vaccine, especially one that is using a new method (new as is there are no other commercially available mRNA vaccines).
I mostly agree with you, although I think it's personally quite reasonable to be hesitant about unstudied long term side effects from a newly produced vaccine. Whether or not it's likely to occur, the possibility is there. I do think it's inappropriate to try to stop others from taking it if...
I have no doubt that they provide help in assessing risk of side effects, no doubt at all. But simply because we know how the mechanism behind this vaccine works doesn't negate the need to study this vaccine. We still require new vaccinations to undergo testing regardless of how proven the...
Of course not. I'm just saying that it's pretty sensible to say that we don't have long term data on this vaccine. We can't have that data until an actual long period of time has passed.
Yes, they are.

This vaccine hasn't. Just because the technology has, doesn't mean this vaccine has had long term studies. I'm pretty confident we do studies on every new vaccine regardless of how long the technology has been around.
I'm not afraid of long term side affects from this vaccine, or I wouldn't...
I think zero long term data is a pretty reasonable description of what we have with this vaccine, though. There's no way to have long term data on something that hasn't been around for a long term, so zero long term data is appropriate.
I'm sure infrastructure planning does play a significant role in electricity costs, as does method of power production. I live in a major hydropower region and so there's plentiful and cheap electricity. We pay just over 2 cents/kw-hr in my county, go a little over a hundred miles to the west...
