Agreed, it seems like way too quickly to have issues. However, just watching this YouTube vid from Zander13 he discusses the issue and he is only on his 3rd tank of corn and claims to be having issues with his o2 sensor(s) already. Food for thought.
As an aside, I have the same 2 tunes from Lund...
That I’m not too sure about- I’m mostly a newbie myself. From your signature, it appears you have Lund tunes; you might want to post on their facebook support page- lots of very helpful people with a deep pool of knowledge.
Unfortunately, yeah. Good news is, though, that emission testing is only in a few counties around Dallas, Austin, and Houston. Rest of Texas thus far does not have emissions testing, thankfully.
Agree completely. I got a tester after conferring with my tuner, at his recommendation. I used the flex tune first, noted the Alcohol Percent, then loaded the E85r tune with the same fuel, from the same pump at the same station.
One question though: how often do you think I should check it with...
So, I’ll share my experience so far.
I decided to get the Lund tune, opted for the flex/E85r option and got an nGauge with it.
The process couldn’t have been easier; I received the device and the next business day after the nGauge arrived I got an email from the tuner, Alex, with the 2 tunes...
Interestingly, at my local Valero stations, the pumps are labeled E85 with literally no verbiage at all about minimum percentages of alcohol or anything like that. There is nothing to note about lesser percentages or any kind of seasonal blends or lesser mixes. Not sure if it's just them or...
Happened to get this video suggestion on YouTube shortly after reading this forum thread. Much of what Chevy Dude says reinforces what's been said already plus I found it overall informative.

This is where I live as well. If you don't mind me asking, have you tested/logged Valero E85 and who's tune are you running? Valero are the 4 close stations that offer E. Thanks a lot!
Thats great advice, thanks! Luckily I live in Bexar County, no emissions testing at this point but its a good idea to have all the bases covered. Thanks for the help!
Absolutely! I plan to run corn near exclusively, but I know there are going to be times when I have to leave my home area that I want to be prepared for. Thanks for your feedback!
Just trying to figure out the best course forward with tuning my car. I have a bone stock 2019 Mustang GT PP1 A10, and I live in a large Texas city with great E85 availability- 4 stations within 2 miles with E! So, my dilemma; I think it makes sense to get a straight E85 tune but from there I am...
