  1. Lemon Law Thread: How many have or are filing Lemon Law for their S550?

Here is the VIN on my lemon: 2018 FORD MUSTANG VIN: 1FA6P8CFXJ5170395
  2. Dealer motor tear down for BBQ tick

Thank you! I'm not going to lie.. it's nice having the car back to drive. I was bored driving the rental base model F-150 truck. But, everything works out, because I'm finalizing a deal on a new ZL1 - Chevy gives a $2,000 rebate for mustang owners :) I'll be sure to post the VIN in the other...
  3. Dealer motor tear down for BBQ tick

Since I was approved for the buy-back last Friday (12/21), the process is moving rather quickly. My case was transferred to the RAV dept. and the customer service is much much better than the Ford customer care manager. She answers my calls and emails promptly. I got my mustang back yesterday...
  4. Opinions wanted

I am finishing up the buy-back process through Ford. It's sucks. Gotta be patient and be available on their time. But in the end I don't know if lawyering up would yeild any better/faster results.
  5. Dealer motor tear down for BBQ tick

Just got the call this morning. I've been approved for a buy-back. Probably will get the mustang back soon to drive while I wait for the refund to clear. Probably will be another couple of weeks.
  6. Buyback help!

Research your state's lemon law criteria. If you think your case meets the criteria then I'd push for a lemon-law (buy-back). If you still have issues dealing with Ford, consult with a lawyer. Usually 30 minutes is free. Might need to take the case to court if indeed it is a lemon law car and...

  8. Another '18 Coyote engine to bite the dust. (Buy back accepted)

That is good news! I'm expecting a call today from Ford customer service manager for my buy-back approval. Car has been at the dealership for 40 days now. New engine going in for the BBQ tick. Found metal shavings in the pan and confirmed piston slap on cylinder #3. 1200 miles on the odo.
  9. Dealer motor tear down for BBQ tick

Update: Talked to the service manager this morning. Dealership is pushing to get out of the buy back and go for a replacement vehicle (of course.. dealership doesn't want a buy-back on their hands). Told him absolutely not until Ford tells me the issue and has a solution, along with build...
  10. BBQ tick - another attempt to understand

I agree with everything you state here minus the last paragraph. I'm going with a 6th gen Camaro :).
  11. BBQ tick - another attempt to understand

I'm also an engineer, which is why I'm having Ford buying this ticking pony back.
  12. My 2018 GT needs a new short block

Oh man, I hope my buy-back experience isn't a nightmare like yours. I'd be livid. Today is my 30 day mark. Hoping to get the case turned over to RAV to get the ball rolling this week (already set on a different car). So it sounds like about three weeks from buy back approval to refund check?
  13. Dealer motor tear down for BBQ tick

Update: Today is the 30 day mark for lemon law in my state that my car has been out of service. Last Friday 12/7 I finally got a hold of the service case manager after 5 days of phone tag. That's probably the worse part of this process - trying to communicate with them on their time. I work 8...
  14. Lemon Law Thread: How many have or are filing Lemon Law for their S550?

Thanks! I went and looked at one today. Brand new '19 with insane incentives. It's too good of a deal to pass up. Hopefully this buyback goes well and in a timely manner. I just don't want to risk it with another GT. But best of luck to you and your replacement.
  15. Lemon Law Thread: How many have or are filing Lemon Law for their S550?

Tomorrow is the 30 day mark for me. Car has been at the dealership the whole time. Already escalated my case to a customer care manager and told her I want the buy back option. She's supposed to follow up with me this Friday with the details. Also started a case with BBB. 1200 miles logged on...
  16. BBQ Tick/Rattle

My 18' is at the dealer with the engine being torn it to for the BBQ tick right now. Hope to have some feedback in a couple weeks from the service manager/advisor. Really would like to find the root cause for it along with many others on here.
  17. Add me to the list.....

TGGT, i'm kind of in the same boat as you. My car has been at the dealer for 4 weeks now. It is just sitting there waiting in line for the engine tech to start tearing in to the car. So far ford hotline has instructed them not to order any parts or a motor. Next Monday will be 30 consecutive...
  18. 2019 Mustang GT Tapping/Knocking

Take it to several dealers. I took mine in to the local dealer (small town) and they fed me the same bs line. After wasting a week at the local dealer, I took the car back and took it to a big dealer in Atlanta. They are tearing into the motor as we speak.
  19. Dealer motor tear down for BBQ tick

I loved my car too, but I really can not justify making monthly payments on something that has abnormal engine characteristics (at least until Ford proves otherwise). In my view, this engine's fate is premature failure - the ticking metal-on-metal contact noise has got to be a problem whether it...
  20. Dealer motor tear down for BBQ tick

Bought my 2018 Mustang GT early November and drove it off the lot with less than 100 miles ticking. Unfortunately I did not do any research until after I purchased the car. I assumed it was an exhaust leak and thought "well heck, that's a simple fix. I'll just bring it back later". Fast...
