  1. How common is EcoBoom?

By 2021 this is old news. 2.3 EB's blow the #3 cylinder most frequently. My 2016 with larger Mishimoto intercooler, catch can, and NGK cold plugs blew up at 61K miles on a stock tune. It was a desert car, specifically it goes up to about 123 degrees in the Coachella Valley in summer. I pushed...
  2. Unleashed Tune blew my ecoboost mustang up

Sorry to say my 2016 EB blew up with a FP tune at 61K. The car has a FP CAI, Mishimoto intercooler, and MagnaFlow Street exhaust, and a Mishimoto Catch can. All work was performed at a Ford dealer. Since it was a CPO car with 100K warranty, and its better for the dealer to do a long block vs...
  3. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S vs Nitto NT555 G2

@Semp 1 Nobody forced anything down my throat. I spend my money where when and on what I choose. I live in the desert. Today June 7, it will be 106 degrees. It will not cool off until October. And when I say cool off, I mean temperatures below 90 degrees. If it ever goes below 45 degrees...that...
  4. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S vs Nitto NT555 G2

I want to try the Michelin Pilot Sport, to see if I notice the difference. What is standing in my way is the price. Nitto 555 G2 $205 per tire, Mickey Thompson Street Comp $208 per tire, and Michelins $340 per tire. I realize you get what you pay for, but damn! Thats $420 more for a set of tires!
  5. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S vs Nitto NT555 G2

I was a bit confused when I recently read Nitto putting out there NT 555 G2 as a 'wet weather tire". I live in the desert so I bought "summer tires" for my car.
  6. Liberty Walk Mustang - Wide Body Kit

What company made or did these flares? It looks great, and I would not want to have screws showing on my car.
  7. Unleashed Tune blew my ecoboost mustang up

Perhaps this is for another thread, but it did help me to understand what goes on under the hood of my ecoboost. This from another blog..."Understanding knock and ignition corrections in your Ecoboost powered Ford"...
  8. Unleashed Tune blew my ecoboost mustang up

I do not have an Unleashed tune. I have a Ford tune which was implemented / came with my CAI, which was installed after the CAI and Magnaflow exhaust were put on. I have a Catch Can and a Mishimoto intercooler installed, which should be better than stock for addressing known issues with turbo...
  9. Unleashed Tune blew my ecoboost mustang up

No I did not change any sensors. Must have missed that one.
  10. Unleashed Tune blew my ecoboost mustang up

Very interesting. Thanks for the info.
  11. Unleashed Tune blew my ecoboost mustang up

Since the motoor blew not even a mile away from the dealer after an oil change, yes it did have the catch can on it. I told the dealer exactly what was on the car, and since I had Quicklane check the catch can on previous oil changes, they now all about it. It is not a modification that would...
  12. Unleashed Tune blew my ecoboost mustang up

I have put a few more miles on a 2016 EBM than most, (I suspect) 65,000 miles. It just blew up, waiting for a diagnosis from the dealer. I have a FP CAI and Ford Tune. All mods after I bought it used, from a dealer, with a 100,000 CPO mile warranty on it and 25,000 miles. Before that it was a...
  13. Unleashed Tune blew my ecoboost mustang up

My 2016 Mustang ecoboost just blew up, @ 65,000 miles. Waiting to hear from the dealer what failed. By the sounds coming from the engine, it is a rod or piston. I did get "check oil" soon messages, and took it to Ford Quicklane for an oil change, however I do not think they checked out what...
