  1. Facelift models, pros and cons please?

The corrosion problem of Ali panels has been going since 2005 and will continue while they still use aluminium. However some cars are effected worse then others and some not at all. It’s complete luck which will be better or worse.
  2. Rusting bodywork

Would be good to see how they fit. My experience with aftermarket wings is usually a poor fit. I mean they won’t rust…. I am guessing two of those and a paint job is going to set you back in excess of £1200. And you are left with grp wings which can be prone to cracking. All because Ford...
  3. Swapping Dash Instruments/dials (how are they programmed)?

Thank you, that thread makes me think that if you swap with the same year/model they will probably work fine it will just be the mileage that is out. Cheers, I will give it a go.
  4. Swapping Dash Instruments/dials (how are they programmed)?

So I have a 2017GT with an analogue dash. I want to purchase another set of analogue dials to customise. Will these be plug and play and simply display the wrong miles? Or will they not work at all without being “programmed” to my car? How are they programmed and can you have more than one set...
  5. Mach 1 grill measurements?

    That’s perfect thank you!
  6. Water in drivers side footwell...

Yeah the plugs for the window motors fill with water too. Then the short slowly burns out the control unit circuit board. Then your window starts only working intermittently. Drying it out and cleaning the contacts doesn’t fix it as the board has shorted. If they designed the plug better this...
  7. Mach 1 grill measurements?

Could any really helpful Mach 1 owner please help me with measuring the fake spot lamp openings in the grill? I’m after the diameter at the widest point of the circles inner and outer. So between the red arrows and between the blue arrows. Cheers 👍
  8. Galvanic Corrosion

The general consensus was that iron/steel particles end up on the bare aluminium before primer is applied. Maybe from the steel moulds/presses. Ford have never really admitted it but have replaced bonnets/hoods under warranty. Some of the S197’s actually corroded all the way through. Annoyingly...
  9. Galvanic Corrosion

This has been happening since the 2005 models which had exactly the same problem with Aluminium bonnets. Some seem to get away with it but it’s pot luck. My bonnet edge just starting bubbling at 6years with no stone chips in the area (so it’s definitely contaminated paint or iron particles on...
  10. Odd power window issue

Did you ever fix it? My drivers window on a coupe only works on the switch sometimes…. Other times the switch won’t work. The auto drop and raise when you open/close the door works fine. I have taken the door apart and found the connector was full of water. No obvious corrosion. Cleaned with...
  11. Anybody running 4 or 5 point harness

No….. not true. the design of the three point and pre-tensioner means the lap belt tightens as your chests pushes forwards. This pulls your waist into the seat. But it allows some deceleration if the upper body too. It’s why all manufacturers still use that design. A fixed harness system does...
  12. Anybody running 4 or 5 point harness

🤷‍♂️ just putting my thoughts out there to hopefully prevent injury/death as I have seen plenty. Hans may help stop neck injury caused by using harnesses (which is protected by a three point and air bag already) but increases risk in roll over without the full kit. For me I wouldn’t risk it...
  13. Anybody running 4 or 5 point harness

That’s good but the four point still won’t offer anything other then making you feel more planted and looks. At the cost of being less safe. But up to you (I have seen some very mangled bodies at crashes so I may be over cautious).
  14. Anybody running 4 or 5 point harness

I looked into all this years ago for a track car. Basically I found out that it’s generally safer to have the original set up than a part race setup. IE it’s all or nothing. Four point harnesses are not safe. A standard three point is safer. The lack of anti submarine strap means you will slide...
  15. Changing UK headlights 15-17 models to get OEM tribars

Why not just get the DD ones then you have exactly what you want. If they fail after a few years you can just unplug them and you see are just back to normal… or they may last for as long as you have the car.
  16. Changing UK headlights 15-17 models to get OEM tribars

They do just white ones… they are the ones I have and the indicator is an option. If you look at my post I think you will agree they look identical to Fords. The boards could go wrong…. But if they do you buy another set for like £150. There are not that many posts about problems really… cheap...
  17. Changing UK headlights 15-17 models to get OEM tribars

Not that hard to do, looks as good as Fords and reliable so far. Replacing the complete front end instead is a massively expensive way https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/custom-driving-light-grill-and-tri-bars-fitted.164517/#post-3352719 Could always do red rears too 🙂...
  18. RHD Oil cooler upgrade with some pictures

That’s on an American car, obviously you can mount the cooler there if you like on a U.K. car but I’m still not sure about the “Mach 1 take off”. I would love to see some pics of a U.K. one to see if it is set out the same. I don’t see that it can be as the right hand drive steering box is the...
  19. Demon eyes

You will probably have to use a multi meter and work out which wires do what on the car then match those to the listed wires on the instructions. Which ones you choose depends on what you want to trigger them? If opening up the headlights doesn’t phase you, it won’t be hard to sort it out with...
  20. Custom driving light grill and tri bars fitted

Thank you 🙂 And yes I swapped the red and white wires around and got the dimmer with headlights on, brighter with them off as a result. it really is a shame the instructions are so lacking!
