  1. Its going to have to go...

Thanks for the suggestions, some inspired stuff there. To my shame I'd never heard of a Kia Stinger, always associated Kia with ordinary everyday family cars. Certainly worth following up. I'm in the UK, so the steering wheel has to be in the right place (!), so the choice of US cars is really...
  2. Its going to have to go...

My shiny 18 reg GT is just too small, the rear sets are just too small and too few for my current needs. scratch my head... What is the equivalent of a 4 door 5 seat mustang? Budget, about what a 2 year old GT will be worth in a few months time. Please help, I'm not normally indecisive about...
  3. I'm a bit disappointed.

OK, I think its fair to update this. The slightly disappointed bit has gone now I've got to grips with this Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde car. In Jekyll mode it is rather dull, quite quick and civilized. Certainly won't scare drivers of a nervous disposition too much. Excellent, if you like beige 4...
  4. I'm a bit disappointed.

Touch screen is easier in LHD cars, assuming you are right handed:) RHD and right handed just gets a few random prods...
  5. I'm a bit disappointed.

No, the MY18 was outside my budget. SWMBO is slightly disabled, so can't manage a manual for any length of time, so the 6 speed it had to be. I like to use the paddles to shift manually, which is fine with a 6/7 speed box but gets a bit wearing with a 9/10 speed (my previous mercs have been 7...
  6. I'm a bit disappointed.

A few things about my car disappoint be a little. Rather more don't, so win so far. Handling is way, way better than my previous Mustangs. Throwing away the live rear axle is a GOOD THING. Build quality is OK, the fix-this-under-warranty list is commendably short and trivial. Also good. LHD...
  7. Throttle response - a little pedestrian?

OK, the answer is sport + and revs via manual changes. 10 speed auto, you'd spend your whole time with manual changes! Race is a bit silly for roads with other people, it is a bit hooligan tailout. SWMBO won't sanction hacksawing the exhaust, so standard it remains. We'll see:)
  8. Throttle response - a little pedestrian?

I find the throttle response a little slow, hind of fair enough in wet/snow/granny mode. Still rather dull in normal but improving in sport+ and race. Race isn't the smartest for road use, and sport+ is kind of overkill for pottering around town. Its also too quiet and civilized , so I've been...
  9. The UK S550 "spotted" thread

18 reg white GT in Hinckley. Very shiny, just before the rail:)
  10. F7 navigation card for Sync2 released

Aren't updates covered under the service plan?
  11. Am I just odd - Power vs No Power.

OK, this might sound a little strange. My shiny new Mustang is wonderful. Fast, civilized (maybe a little too much, it sounds a bit subdued for a pokey V8) and a pleasure to drive. Which is the problem. It is too easy to take it for granted. Trundling around town isn't an issue. Faster roads...
  12. New GT101 H Pipe

This video maybe gives an idea - h pipes and standard exhaust boxes. Don't know what the americans class as not too loud, though. [ame]
  13. New GT101 H Pipe

Having worked in the nuclear industry, the welding is OK but not outstandingly pretty. It also costs less than £200, whereas nuclear grade would be £22,550 +VAT, delivery, a certificate, 14 months delivery. Then lost by stores for 8 weeks, and broken by the fitter.....:)
  14. First Images on my 18MY

Someone has stolen the engine! Make sure it starts when you take delivery.....
  15. Key cloning and stealing

Us Brits kind of work on the principle that if no-one has a gun, fewer people get shot. And it works. 50 to 60 people a year murdered by guns, UK. Around 8,000 in the US. We sort out the bad guys by either a strongly worded email, pointing at them or running away. That scares them:)
