I'm two track days in with P51's at this point. They have take off slicks mounted on them. Few things to share with everyone. First, the HVAC tape works great! Two events with the wheel weights taped perfectly with no issues at all! Weights didn't come off and it was nice for a change to not...
Thanks for all the recommendations on here guys! bellwilliam advice was spot on. I have ran two tracks days so far. Putnam Park Road Course (1:15.7) and Mid Ohio (1:40) and I'm thrilled with the wear on the stock tires (MPSS) and take off slicks.
Quick overview. Front, Vorslag CC plates...
I would be curious everyone thoughts, but Vorshlag has a big write up on the S550 and recommending near 0 total front toe. Yours is within spec but just what they were preaching for better tire wear.
I wanted slight toe-in up front and then when maxing out the CC plates it should put toe near...
Get the Vorshlag CC plates. You can have them set at stock for daily driving then just max them out at the track. Took me all of 10 minutes to max them out once I got to the track and then put them back to "stock" or as far as they go positive.
Have them set toe at the shop with the stock...
For reference on the rear camber. Front, slight, very slight toe out. The vorshlag plates on each side were at the max positive camber setting (if that makes sense). You couldn't move them any farther positive etc. At the track, I shoved them all the way to the max camber, which should have made...
Thanks, guys! I'm VERY happy with the stock setup. Just wondered if anyone was deviating from stock. I have absolutely no reason to run anything else. They were GREAT at my first event. Just checking with those that have had the car and more experience than myself.
I don't want to burn...
I was surprised at the -3 degrees too. The steeda adjusters are just to make it easier to adjust camber not give it anymore. I have the print out of the alignment I will upload. Before taking it to the shop I adjusted the rear camber with my quick trick extreme alignment too and it was showing...
They are one of the best groups I have ran with. Their drivers in intermediate are better than most in Advanced group at other companies. Also they allow passing anywhere on track as long as you get a point by. So you can pass in the turns and its a blast :)
Great group with tons of knowledge...
Thanks for the info guys! I do want to stay with the stock pads as long as I can. I just wanted a spare set Incase I burn through these. I’m not set on any particular brand or compound right now. Haven’t done enough research.
I’m going to dig more but would be fine at this point just buying...
Car ran great at my first event. Including a link below. However I was checking things over and snapped a picture of the front pads. Car had 3.2k miles on when I bought it. Has 4.2k miles now and 1 track day / HPDE event (Putnam Park Road Course).
I'm thinking the front pads look about 50%...
Not today, but track day Saturday. What. A. Car.
Worth every penny. Was running Pirelli Pzero DH take off slicks in this video but man this car is a beast on track!
** My friend was riding shotgun and some, if not, a lot of banter and NSFW comments.
Im with most of you guys. For my first oil change I took it to a local Ford dealer to have the oil changed for many of the same reasons everyone has mentioned.
Im normally a DIY person and hardly every take our cars to have the oil changed however, being its a new GT350 I caved. Again for...
Spoke to soon guys. Check front and rear toe using the quick trick aligment tool and the rear toe is over 1 inch toe in. I had them set the rear camber at max which was about -3.1 and -0.30 toe in.
In one of my other posts I mentioned I took it a local shop to have them align it before the...
Great points. I agree. I was sorta all over the place on some laps. Was trying to find to right speed to not over shoot the exit but not have to accelerate to get to exit. Good tips, thanks man!
Heres a question for everyone. In that video after the last two laps, probably happened on my...
Heres the video guys.
Its 17 laps, fastest lap is the last one if you want to skip forward.

Also, a quick disclaimer. My buddy had a chatterbox and we were going back and forth the entire time. A fair bit of NSFW language and convo based on two guys coming from older Mustangs that...
Thank you for the recommendations! Trying to learn as much as possible. I totally didn't pay enough attention when having the slicks mounted. Ugh. I'm gonna take them next week and get them flipped and follow your recommendations at Mid Ohio on the 14th of next month. I think they might be...
By wear markers you mean the small holes that allow you gauge the depth of the rubber?
I was uploading photos to my SmugMug account just now to share with everyone and noticed I think some of the slicks were already worn a good bit on the outside before I put them on the car. I guess I didn't...
Yep. Wear on the rear was the same as the front. I have the vorshlag CC plates maxed out up front. Basically -3 degrees camber on all the way around.
Editing my best session now. Heres a photo of the wear.
