This car has been a challenge. The motor was one of those oil eaters, so it had a total engine replacement at 6,500 miles. The first cluster started going black in 2021. Always in warm weather. Cool weather, it was fine. It's exciting at night when your entire panel goes black. Zero...
So. Ford just replaced the oil burning Voodoo in my 2017 GT350R. If you have one of the oil burners--it's pretty easy to tell. It burns a shit-load of oil. Mine started at about a quart a thousand miles, and rapidly ramped up to a quart every 300 miles. Finally decided I had run enough miles on...
Add my 2017 GT350R to the number of cars that is getting a new motor. What a pain in the ass. Burning a quart about every three-hundred miles. On the upside, there have been so many of these that the 'qualify for motor replacement' testing is pretty short. If you can show Ford you're burning a...
I've got a 2017 R version. Burned 8 quarts of oil before the first service at 4,000. I cut it short, because it was obvious this was one of the oil drinkers. Going back in on Tuesday for an official measure. Has burned at least 2 quarts in 500 miles. If you have an oil burner, you know it right...
GT500
So, I go to the Ford.com company page looking for updates on the 500. When I hit the 500 link, instead of going to the teaser, it's now a busted link, redirecting you to the home page. If you hit GT500 in the search it offers (0) response.
Well--at $85,000--by the time you pay tax on that--you're gonna be at or near a $100,000. Add extended warranty, that's another $4,000. BTW. Ford sell those to the dealer for around $900 for the GT350. Don't get jacked at the $3,750 extended warranty price. Same goes for the 8 year extended...
Yeah...the dealers were trying to get whatever they could...they didn't jump off the showroom floor at those hyper-inflated prices. The (R) car is going to be super collectible. There may never be another Ford that got that kind of hand built and custom material attention. The R even had...
True, most will buy with any transmission offered--except me. I'm not interested in paddles. However, now, you're talking about a car that could cost, real world, close to $100,000. Thats GT350R+ demo. When the air gets that thin, people get a lot more picky. There is no easy payment plan for a...
I think it's highly unlikely that Ford will offer a GT style duel clutch transmission in the 500. I think you'll see a drag modified version of the 10 speed. I'd bet you'll have the option of 10 speed auto or 6/7 speed manual. The next version GT350 will be a lock for the GT DC.
The GT500 and the GT350 appear to be mutually exclusive from the advance information. The GT500 won't have a track feature, and will be tuned more for the drag strip. The Voodoo engine is an exotic GEM. Cars running the Voodoo will be collector favorite--also not available in any form after...
