Ah, thanks for clarifying that George. Well, despite the confusion, I love the shifter so far! Good work!
I highly recommend that people do the install themselves, there really is nothing to it. Probably the easiest thing I've ever installed on a car, no joke. Maybe it's because I've previously...
Ah ok. Thanks for clearing that up. I did end up installing it last night and it feels great. Install took about 2 hours if you include the test drive. Definitely a night and day difference! The hype is real.
My only concern is that I could have sworn I read somewhere on this forum that the...
Well I just got my MGW in the mail. I ordered a flat stick race spec but they sent me a flat stick x-spec. Not too thrilled. Gonna call them tomorrow and see what the deal is.
Awesome! I'm getting excited. As soon as the package arrives this afternoon I'll get to work installing it. I'll have the car waiting on the quickjacks.
TBH I've never really had too many issues with the stock shifter when it comes to missed gears, I just don't like the way my 1->2 feels and...
Just wanted to give a little update...I couldn't resist. I ordered the MGW a couple of weeks ago. Standard Race Spec with flat stick and weighted gripper ball (stainless inserts). It's going to be here tomorrow and I'm going to install it tomorrow night. I will report back. Hopefully the MGW +...
I think it'll hold me off for now. I'm sure the MGW is as great as everyone says it is and I'll put it on the to-do list... but for now I feel no urgency to swap the shifter out. The BG really smoothed things out.
Just swapped the fluid. I only have 1900 miles on the car so I didn't think there would be too much of a noticable difference but boy was I wrong. First impression is that it is much smoother and there's no more gear nibble. The shifts are much more pleasant now. I feel like I'm no longer...
I wouldn't do that. Just because they move doesn't mean anything. I think you're being paranoid. The car is literally brand new, has just over 1000 miles on it. Just drive the damn thing, you have 59k miles left on the warranty.
I've heard many people say practically the same thing which makes the MGW THAT much more tempting. We'll see if this BG fluid does anything. I'm trying to do the fiscally responsible thing but you people are bad influences.
I need help. I can't decide whether or not I want to buy the MGW. Everyone praises the ground beneath it but I haven't really had any issues with the stock shifter other than a few nibbly 1->2 and 3->4 shifts here and there. Full disclosure: I daily drive the vehicle and this is my first manual...
I used to have a Nexus 7 in the dash of my F250. The problem I ran into was that during the summer I couldn't keep it charged. The heat really messed with it.
I think that a touch screen from MP3 car that has a built in backup camera input with automatic switching would be the way to go since...
I understand. For some reason I thought that OpenXC only allowed read only canbus communication but maybe I'm mistaken. Also, if the AC controls aren't hooked up and you have a OpenXC device communicating via the OBD2 port, are you still able to control the AC unit?
