I have experienced this many times in Minnesota and it is alarming. I have never had it happen with any other car (even previous generation mustangs). It makes a huge clunking noise. I have asked the dealership and they, of course, said everything was fine.
I do not think it's anything to...
Thanks for the advice! Do you know if unleashed uses COBB?
Have you heard from people saying a tune has really helped the 10R80? Because my COBB stage 1 didn’t help much.
I currently have a 10R80 in a 2018 ecoboost convertible.
Any chance it performs better when mate with the V8???
Really looking for input from those who have experienced many modern automatic transmissions
In a word my transmission is terrible.
Its jerky, hesitant, slow and has ruined the...
No, not expecting Bentley level smooth. I am expecting a normal working transmission. This is generally regarded as a poor transmission give there are extensive threads.
All I am trying to do is find out if there are others who have had a degree of success with different tunes, software...
Sounds like you and me have the same experience. Stock, the car is nearly undriveable. Terrible shifting up and down, slow, etc.
I have had an improvement with the COBB stage 1 tune overall. Definitely better, but still very frustrating. Agree with you that shifts are still a bit harsh...
I am constantly mixing it up between sport and normal. I use mostly normal for cruising around. Although the shifts are slow, at least it doesn't 'buck' at every shift point like sport. I find sport to shift faster, obviously, but it jerks and bucks at everything but full throttle. So it's...
All,
This is my second ecoboost mustang. I had a 2016 with the six speed, a COBB stage 1 tune and 19" GT350 style wheels.
My current ride is a 2018 ecoboost Mustang convertible with the same COBB stage 1 tune. Frankly, it feels terrible compared to the 2016.
No doubt, the primary reason is...
Well, unless your 10R80 is better than mine for some reason, the transmission is garbage. It is by FAR the worst part about this car. I hate everything about it.
All this talk from you about the terrible ecoboost, yet you own an ecoboost Expedition! LOL
I would NEVER drive an SUV that doesn't have a V8. That's so gross. It's not a real SUV unless it has a V8.
I chose an ecoboost because I wanted a great looking four seat convertible that has somewhat decent performance. I got my 2018 with 40K miles for $21,500. To step up to a comparably equipped GT convertible, the price would have been at least $35,000.
Would love more power and sound of course...
Looking to improve the intake growl (not the blowoff or turbo sound) coming from the ecoboost.
Is this possible with a CAI? Or are you only getting turbo blowoff sounds?
Finally, which one is best for deep engine sound?
Thanks!
Fred
I agree with your summary 100%! I recently purchased a used 2018 with the 10 speed and it is most definitely a TERRIBLE transition. It is jerky and impossible to drive smoothly. As you said, it hangs on to gears like someone holding on for dear life hanging off a building.
It is extremely...
