itās been 5+ months since I started this thread. As I indicated in my original post, I had already long since given up the hunt for a GT500. This experience didnāt exactly get me going again, at least not in a meaningful way. When the dealer said theyād call me about that car āin a few days,ā...
thanks for clarifying... I understand now why so many of the painted stripe cars are also CFTP. If youāre lucky enough to have a golden ticket and youāre sitting down to order your car, youāre probably going to check the CFTP box first! I donāt imagine too many people āwaistā their golden...
So of course with time to kill waiting for my GT350, I wandered into the showroom and inquired about that car. The story is that it is for the ownerās son. They said theyād call him and ask if heās willing to give it up, then get back to me in a few days...
I aināt holding my breath.
Sorry is this is old news guys, but while getting the oil changed in my GT350 today I noticed a GT500 sitting at the dealer (tucked away, covered in dust, not in the showroom, likely waiting for customer to pick up)...
Anyway, itās a non-CFTP car but it has painted stripes! I didnāt think that...
Highly doubt it maintains exhaust mode when shut off. My GT350 doesnāt; it always starts up in quiet mode. I seem to recall that Speed Phenom also addressed this briefly in one of his recent videos.
I also think itās a little frustrating that Ford couldnāt manage to make the Recaros...
Speaking of fenders, I kinda wish theyād maintained the fender vents from the GT350. Itās a minor complaint but has always been a design feature I like on the Shelbys.
Iām sorry guys, I promise last post. I just checked my āspamā folder and couldnāt resist posting this gem...
An official quote from the dealer to buy THAT car for $80k.
āThe price we can offer you on the 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 you requested is listed below.ā
In my business, a quote is a lot...
Sure. But just so weāre clear... I was actually happy to stop posting yesterday... until you called me into question and your guy sent me that passive aggressive text...
Moving on... I actually spent the day looking at other (non-Ford) cars. Kind of crazy how different the dealership...
since now you are now questioning my integrity, Iāll give you a blow by blow. I went back and looked at my call log.... 10 minutes total.
I put in an Internet inquiry
Your guy called me within 5 mins
I said I was calling about the base GT500 on their site
He said it wasnāt available
I was...
Let me clarify something. I didnāt mean to suggest the VINS were fake. I probably turned up the contrast too much. Sorry. Words matter. When I said they arenāt real what I meant was they are advertising cars to me (and all y'all) that we canāt have. So in that sense, real or not, they arenāt...
Actually no, they did NOT. One offered take my money with zero allocations to offer. The other tried to sell me an entirely different car. Neither dealer have the car or line of sight to to the car. So no, they did NOT say they could get me one. And thatās before we even address the fake price...
Youāre focusing on the phone call. The dishonesty lies in the ads themselves. They are listing cars with vins and stock numbers that they donāt have to sell. And worse, they are using pricing that isnāt real either. All of that BAIT you and me into getting on the phone in an attempt to SWITCH us...
again, Iām all for capitalism. Thatās why Iām actually applauding my local guy in my post (despite his own ADM). They are not advertising cars they donāt have nor prices that donāt exist. In other words heās not wasting my time or anybody elseās. With him I know where I stand and he knows where...
Like I said, itās not the ADMās Iām posting about. Iām a free market guy. Let the dealers test the market. All good. As a buyer I can also test the market and hope for an MSRP deal. I knew it was a long shot. I admitted that.
The part I thought was shady is they are knowingly listing cars they...
So Iām not new to this game. Iāve owned four Mustangs (currently drive an ā18 GT350) and always seem to chase hard-to-find cars. Iām not a guy who rants about ADMās, although I wonāt pay them either. That said, what I experienced today crossed the line, imho.
Knowing itās probably too early to...
