I now have a dsp and a mono amp powering my system, but prior to this, I was running my upgraded speakers off the factory amplifier. It was quite good, but I couldn't resist using a dsp. These are the speakers I'm using:-
Front midbass- SO Audio 165 2.8 (shortly changing to Stereo Integrity...
Which double din would you recommend for replacement of a factory sync 3 HU? I haven't come across any that would be able to show climate controls on it.
Absolutely! Just minor adjustments and they fit right in. Also, mine are powered off the stock amplifier; hence, it's much obvious that yours will sound much better being powered by the Focal amp.
Was just going through your previous post, try and listen to the Focal bomba or any powered sub...
I'm using a pair of Focal coaxials (IC 165TOY) for the rear and I love them. If I ever change them going forward, I might get the K2 power coaxial or Hertz. But I can vouch for the fact that the Focal coaxial definitely make a lot of difference if you wish to retain the rear channel!
Hi All! (Long and boring thread warning :p)
I wanted to share my thoughts on a recent install I did on my Mustang. Before I begin, I wish to thanks mumbles for all the help and advice provided to me till date! He has been very patient with me, and I can't thank him enough. That being said, I...
Which speakers did you get? I replaced all of mine, and while with the center speaker it all sounds slightly louder, without it, the music sounds a lot smoother!
Alright, brother! In that case, I'll just add the amplifier first. I'll see if I need the dsp later. Would there be any issue technically if I just power the front speakers off the amp, leave the rear connected to the factory amp?
Thanks for replying! I can assure you that I did go through the sticky. But I can't seem to remember where exactly I read that I'd have to either disable the ACM equalisation, or get the harness to retain the volume control. Perhaps, I'll just give it a shot!
Greetings Everyone! Need a little help!
I upgraded my GT's 9 speaker system by simply replacing the speakers, and adding two subwoofers in the trunk. Did think that I'd be satisfied (I was honestly), but mumbles was right! This bug is not one that dies easy:headbonk: Currently, planning to...
Well! I am not an expert, brother! So, I can only tell you what I've read, and what I've installed. Just checked that yours is a 3 way setup, and I'm not sure of how the others have wired this. But I can tell you that you can either get a separate 6.5" woofer and 3.5" component setup (which is...
The 3.5" mids and the tweeters are wired in parallel. So that's probably the reason why it blew. Also, if you get the 8Ohm tweeters and retain the Focal midrange, that would still result in mismatched impedance.
Just gave him an option based on personal experience, bud. I have 2 subs in the trunk and coaxials in the parcel tray, and I kind of like the overall sound. Which is why I mentioned that it's all about preference in my earlier post.
My suggestion would be to just replace the 3.5" speakers in the front door (upper) and get a set of coaxial speakers for the rear tray. The 6.5" door woofers won't benefit from a component set you're looking at, it'll be a waste since you're using the factory amp.
