No mods. i drive it daily, so I just changed out the shifter bushing for a Steeda, put a whiteline insulator in the transmission mount and put jacking rails on it. Closest thing I have done to an engine mod is to delete the sound tube. otherwise bone stock until it is not my daily driver...
Sorry, I was looking for water pump failures and din't even notice that it was a GT 350 forum when I added my post. Does the GT 350 use a different water pump?
As to water pump failures. . . failure at 50K doesn't so much surprise me as much as catastrophic failure does. I run with my gauges...
Replaced under warranty with both belts, a tensioner, all the coolant (obviously) and most importantly under warranty. I posted pics in another thread, the impeller and the bearings were simply destroyed. They did get the rest of the impleller out of the cooling system but i didn't get a...
The dealer called at 10:30 this morning and my car was ready. Picked it up and inspected the water pump. Impeller was busted out the middle, the bearing was gone, A tensioner pulley was damaged as well. They did not charge me the ESP deductible, which leads me to believe they know this is a...
And my car is in fact one of the PP mustangs and I previously had the AC problems too.
NoVaGT-how do you like the Bama tune and would you recommend it for a daily driver?
Warranty is covering it. Water pump and both belts. Didn't have parts in stock will get them tomorrow and get car done on . . . Friday ?!? I guess I am supposed to be grateful that they are honoring the warranty.
Sorry to not have video, but the pulley wasn't a little loose, it would move forwards and backwards and side to side a full inch in any direction. Maybe a bad bearing, I haven't pulled it apart as it is a warranty issue and I worry about any other damage, so I want them to do the tear down and...
Mine failed today at 50K My car is stock and it imploded on the highway at 2600 rpm more or less. Sitting on the side of te interstate is not pleasant! I would replace mine if I had over 50K based on my experience and what i am seeing. Hopefully the new water pump is revised to aleviate this...
I know this thread is old, but today I had a water pump failure on the interstate. When I checked it out the pulley and the shaft were completely sheared and just hanging there, belt gone, coolant everywhere. Sounds similar
Checked mine at 37K yesterday. Cocked off at an angle, and definitely needed to be pushed back on. Even after it is pushed on it wants to back off part way. I think a zip tie in the groove is a reasonable solution.
You should see the assist spring in an early mustang then-hidden up under the dash it is incredibly stout compared to the ones in our cars (and far harder to remove safely)
2015 Mustang GT PP
I've been in twice for AC repairs. First it was a "Valve that was not properly seated." and 2nd was more extensive and included the replacement of the evaporator coil IIRC
I'm at 36K miles now and waiting for the hot weather. Currently the AC seems to work fine . . .
BUT...
I am having a similar problem, but it only shows up on hot days after my car has been sitting in the sun at work. I guess I have to head to the dealer if I can ever find time
Well I have noticed 2 other symptoms. Sometimes the airbag light stays on and the driver window, when I attempt to close it will reopen unless I hold the button.
Looks like i get to visit the dealer :(
