I was never satisfied with the transmission in this car. I had lost the desire to drive the it, and at around 5k miles I took a long hard look at it and decided that it annoyed me so much, it was time to get rid of it. I started looking for something to replace it and found a dealer in Central...
I do have buttons where premium models have toggle switches. My buttons however don't have any drive mode options... just a hazard light button, traction control button, and a steering mode button.
I don't have the drive mode toggle switch on my car. It's just a base model GT. I only have the S setting on the transmission. I guess I'll just have to put some miles on it and see what happens. The car only has around 700 miles on it.
I didn't really get a chance to test drive the car. We had some nice weather in early March and that's when I purchased the car. They had it on the showroom floor so I couldn't test drive it that day. I needed to arrange a ride up to the dealer so it was a few days later. By then the weather...
Yeah... my car is a base model GT. I don't have any drive mode options. I'm very disappointed with the car. It's a performance car; why would anyone buy a Mustang GT and not want the ability to make it shift quickly. Prior to purchasing it I did not realize that I needed to have to "drive...
I bought a new 2018 Mustang GT while it was still winter in Northeast Pennsylvania. Because of the weather I didn't really start to drive it until now. I decided to go with the 10 speed auto because of all the great things I've heard about the new automatic transmission. From what I had read...
I am now at about 2000 miles on this new clutch... and I hate it more and more every time I drive the car. I took it to the dragstip recently and because of the extreme on or off feel of the clutch I couldn't modulate the clutch well enough to get a good launch. Every launch I pretty much just...
When i say on or off feel, there is almost no part of the clutch pedal travel where you can slip the clutch to start moving. If you very slowly let the clutch out, when you first feel it grab, the next half inch of pedal travel is where the clutch fully engages. The clutch chatter I'm...
So... I installed the Steeda clutch pedal spring this weekend. The clutch now feels like it engages before the pedal has been fully released, and does make driving the car much easier.
The clutch does however still have an on / off feel, and it on occasion will chatter very badly on takeoff...
I did remove the clutch pedal spring, and that has helped a lot with the clutch feel. I've also ordered the lighter version of that spring from Steeda. I've read that installing that spring also helps. I have not installed it yet thought.
I installed a new McLeod RXT clutch, lightened steel flywheel, and braided steel clutch line a few months ago. I have been having problems with the engagement point. There wasn't anything wrong with the OEM clutch, but since my car is supercharged I wanted a new clutch. Since I didn't destroy...
This is a question for Whipple... It seems that for years the Ford Racing branded supercharger option was something from Whipple with Ford Racing's name on it. Does anyone know why for the 15 and 16 Mustangs the Ford Racing kit is now something they built with Roush?
Just to be clear... I am not a mechanic, I'm actually just an IT guy. I do have some mechanical ability, and am fortunate enough to have a lot of tools, and a nice garage. The complete install of the Roush phase 1 kit only took me about 8 hours. The timing cover and block modifications...
I have the Roush phase 1 kit and love it. I did the install myself and it was very easy to install. I started the install one night after work, and had it finished before I went to bed. I'm told there is a lot more modification required with the Roush kit versus the Whipple kit, but the...
My car had the wrench light lit right after I finished my phase 1 install. The car seemed to run fine but the light stayed lit. I decided to re-flash it and also performed the crank sensor relearn. After re-flashing the car, I've not seen the wrench light come on at all.
I have some experience with new cars... This summer my wife and I bought 3 new vehicles, and here is my experience with each:
I bought my 2015 PP GT in July of 2015. The build date is 6/15. I've had some issues with it but nothing major. The reason I mentioned the build date is because it's...
Does the Phase 2 upgrade work with the FRPP version / part number of the Roush / FRPP Phase 1 supercharger? I purchased the FRPP version because at the time it was the only one that came with the Ford Racing Procal 3 software and USB to OBD II adaptor to load the tune myself.
However... If the Whipple requires no cutting, it doesn't really matter how easy it was to make cuts to install the Roush. For me the cuts weren't a big deal.
The biggest reason I went with the Roush over any other brand was total cost of the install. I was able to get the Roush kit for a...
I guess I may have left out some information in regards to my Roush install. The instructions tell you to drain the cooling system, and remove the water pump. Before I did the install I watched several install videos online. One of the videos talked about how to install the kit without...
