The cuts are actually very easy to make. That was the part of the install that gave me the most anxiety but turned out to be very easy. I used a Dremel Multi-tool with a metal blade. All of the cuts only took me about 10 minutes, and the tool cut so cleanly there was only a metal powder left...
So... I installed my FRPP / Roush supercharger kit on my new mustang a few months ago. I was very unsure of whether or not I wanted to go with the TVS style kit because I didn't want to cut my timing cover so that the kit would fit. I eventually decided to go with the FRPP kit because of its...
I've reached out to FRPP and Roush several times over the last 3 weeks. Roush I've never heard back from, FRPP tells me every time I call they're waiting for engineering to take a look at it. FRPP also reminds me that every time I call the reason it is such a low priority to them is because...
This is all good news for RS3 owners, but I'm 3 weeks into troubleshooting this issue with FRPP Tech support and they've offered nothing in the way of a tune update. If Roush can make 670 horsepower, and I'm guessing they're doing this without the drivability issues all of us unfortunate Roush...
I spoke to FRPP tech support today again and asked if they have any updates. I spoke with Tom and he is supposed to be reaching out to Roush to see if they've had any complaints about this. According FRPP they have had ZERO complaints about this kit, and I am the first person to have any...
The wiring harness was modified so that the sensors could be turned all the way until the connector side was touching the cylinder heads.
This weekend I was able to spend some time playing with the car. As recommended in an earlier post I removed fuse 62. The power delivery was night and day...
I did see a PID for ambient air temperature. I checked that and it is showing a lot less than the air charge temperature PID. The ambient air temperature is showing lower than the actual outside air temp by a few degrees so I wasn't sure which sensor it is. If the kit is displaying...
Per travis@boostworks recommendation about data logging the IAT2 I borrowed an iNtune tunner from a friend. I connected it to my can and tried to find the PID for IAT2, but can't seem to find it. I've selected all of the PID's that have anything to do with intake air temperature but everyone I...
Yeah... I followed the LMR recommendation and didn't pull the water pump, or drain the coolant. FRPP is suggesting a possible airlock in just the intercooler / heat exchanger setup.
I don't have a gauge that will allow me to check the IAT at the intercooler. I can say that the degas bottle gets warm / hot to the touch and there is fluid moving through it on a regular basis. FRPP tech support is thinking I may have an airlock in the intercooler. If there is fluid moving...
The traction control settings on a non-premium model are:
Push button 1 time and traction control is off.
Push button 2 times and it is in sport mode.
Press and hold the button for a few seconds and Advancetrack is off.
if you turn off traction control first by pressing the button 1...
Okay... So I spoke with FRPP Tech Support this morning again about this. I have informed them of pretty much everything that has been talked about in this thread so far. They are telling me that they are not aware of any of these issues and that I'm the first person to report these kinds of...
I also have the ecoboost gauge. I didn't notice a drop in boost when the power loss occurred. I have a mechanical gauge I wanted to try since I'm told the ecoboost gauge doesn't actually read manifold pressure.
More interestingly though...
This morning before I posted this I called the FRPP...
I do have a mechanical boost gauge that I can hook up to it. When the problem occurred it did really feel like i just took my foot off the gas, or only went to half throttle. Could it be an issue with the throttle body or something?
One thing that does come to mind about the intercooler pump is the engine on power source that you splice into behind the driver side cylinder head. I used that source to also tell an aftermarket Sub / Amplifier to turn on. Could this be creating any issues?
I don't have a data logging tool for this car, but i was watching the IAT and cylinder head temp while I was at the track. Cylinder head temp was between 210 and 225, and the IAT was between 110 and 130. Sitting in traffic the IAT will come up to 145ish but once i start moving it goes down to...
I don't think that I have the time slips any more. My MPH at 1/4 mile was 117 with a 2.3 60' time and my 1/4 mile time was 12.4. That was the low RPM launch. My other two launches were around 3500 rpm, 60' time was 2.0ish and my mph was 106 and 112. My 1/4 mile time for those two runs were...
This is my first post on this site. Just want to say hi to everyone first. My question is about possible torque control issues with the FRPP / Roush tune that is provided with their supercharger. I installed the kit a week ago and put about 500 street miles on it and everything seemed great...
