I think a much better and more realistic comparison is a PP2 vs a SS 1LE. And I'm pretty sure the SS is still going to be the better track toy. But the PP2 will be a huge improvement.

DOD or AFM systems have had major problems over the years. It is universally hated by all GM people that care about performance and reliability. If someone is putting a cam/springs in a new LS, they are also deleting the DOD because it sucks. Talk to a GM mechanic about problems with the systems.

After looking at it, I think the belt was just a 1/2"to short for the larger 5.0" blower pulley that came with his kit. Causing the tensioner to be in to high up of a position, and hitting the blower pulley. IDK, we took the belt off and he will have to mess with it tomorrow.
