Base GT, manual, black accent package. I told my good friend who is a salesman I wanted magnetic or black. Magnetic was actually my first choice but for some reason they were all ~$1k more in my area than black cars. Not paying a grand for a color I like only slightly more lol. The base car...
I was looking at my accelerometer the other day and I saw .82g acceleration which I just want to know how that happened haha. I don't know how I could have made that happen. I've never seen it max over .66 before on my stock 255 tires.
Soon-ish, I will be making my first pass at a drag strip in my 2017 GT. It is a base MT-82 car with 3.31s and stock 255 pirellis. Only mods are PMAS intake, 93 VMP tune, and res delete/axle backs.
I've done some street launches so I have a decent idea what to expect. I've also read through...
I sure did. Ended up being an engine issue. I had piston slap and some other stuff going on. Ended up getting a whole new long block. I wrote a long post about it (see below).

Yeah, I'm going to install a big mouth either way but you're the 2nd person I've not heard mention the turbulent air over the filter. I've considered the power pack 2 in the past. It's an option.
I’ve been having the same internal struggle between mishimoto and PMAS. My circumstances are similar but a littler different. I have a 2017 GT and had my long block replaced at 12k for similar symptoms as yours including piston wall scoring. Mine was making a ticking/rattling noise around 2k...
Yeah, they really drug it out. Head gaskets for a new engines should not be out of stock for any significant period of time. It's the same supply issue with the forks for the 2018 mt82. Crazy.
My main frustration is that I couldn't get anyone at Ford to talk to me. I kept getting the...
That's how it was on my 17 when I brought it to the dealer. I knew piston slap was a thing that could happen but didn't think that's what mine was. It ran hard as hell. I just took it in because it was annoying me and had a warranty.
Just got my new long block after 2 months. No piston...
Well it should be just a standard gen 2 coyote so rated for 435 hp / 400 tq is my assumption. Too bad they didn't stick a gen 3 in there haha
I was definitely concerned and that's why I kept calm and quiet for a long time during the process. I might have had some help from the dealer...
haha sorry. Hard to keep track of all of it. I honestly thought it was clutch or transmission related when I brought it in. I'd heard of the engine rattle, etc but I didn't think that's where I was hearing the noise from. I did mention it to them as a possibility though when I brought it in.
I never took a video but there is a good video in a thread in the warranties section about a 2018 mustang with the same noise.

I do have a picture of it somewhere but I couldn't find it when I was typing this up. Might need to have my buddy send it again.
Yeah, it would be eligible for lemon law. I wouldn't do it for something silly and minor but any other major issues and I'll be doing that. I don't plan to tune...
Warning: This is a long synopsis of the nearly 2 month saga that ended in a brand new long block for my 2017 GT.
I bought my 2017 Mustang GT base 6 speed in September of 2017. Starting sometime in spring 2018 I started noticing a rattling type noise at low RPM. Usually 1800-2000 RPM...
Yeah, I feel like its clutch related but I can't isolate it to that. I was really hoping to take a look underneath and just see a loose heat shield or something lol
