This is an honest and good review. I must admit, after this review, I'm sold on changing the cams out in the future on my car if I get the opportunity. It's only $200 and you get a better power curve. They really help the top end. This shows that Ford was really trying to make the 2.3L have...
I left the octane adjust alone and just use 93 octane gas. It takes a bit for it to learn. It's really noticeable on manuals apparently. You should go down to a 5.4 or less 0 to 60 with your A10 and PP. My bet is that you will see 5.1, especially with the golden A10. Heck, the A10 is the...
I have to tell you... my dealership apparently did not know what they were doing when they installed the FRPP kit. They got the intake right and the licensing correct. However, they just connected the dongle to the car and said it was programmed. I remember driving 20 miles and thinking to...
Yeah, that's what I paid. I'm going with Amsoil Signature as well. However, I decided to go with the Mobil1 exteneded oil filter. It had a high pressure rating and was able to hold a lot of filtered debris. I know the oil pressure is high in these cars on startup. It just makes sense. I...
I've been watching these engine failures. They seem to really have the same failure mode. They are catastrophic. I believe several factors are causing it, but, I see this and now believe the biggest one is LSPI.
I told myself I wouldn't do it, but, I decided to become an Amsoil user. They...
Thats what I thought.... Ford really embellishes the performance of the 2.3L Ecoboost Mustang, both regular Ecoboost and HPP. The 0-60 numbers are probably because they really tweaked the A-10 and were only reached 50% of the time on a good day.
I had 2 rental convertible mustangs in HI last...
Yeah, I came really close to trying to trade in mine for a 2020 HPP A10 with the handling package back in January. It was going to be $9k off MSRP.... I must admit, I personally like the EB platform. The nose does not feel as heavy as a GT. I think I'm just going to make a go with my 2017...
RPMs did not seem to dip for me. Re-engaging the clutch at the higher RPMS did allow better acceleration. However, I definitely smelled the clutch in the garage when I came home. Bottom line, don't flat foot shift unless the tune is smart enough to drop the RPMs automatically for you.
Thanks! This makes an easy decision for me in the future. I already love the handling of my 2017PP. Its honestly cheaper for me to spend $2k on upgrades vs trading mine in for the HPP mustang. I still think FPP is still sandbagging the car. Also, I think we were cheated by not having a flat...
I'm curious, what has everyone's legit 0-60 been with the A10 in sport mode and the 2018+ FPP tune? Just curious in how it compares versus getting the new HPP Ecoboost. A 4.5 0 to 60 time is impressive.
I have the FPP tune on a 2017 and mine does the same thing. It also purposely cuts power when the oil pressure is this high. I've learned that I have to wait until the oil temperature is normal, and then wait several more miles before you can really go into full boost.
I think what Livernois did with that build was top notch. I also like the lighter nose feel of the Ecoboost. The GT's just seem to heavy up front for my tastes. I would go a similar route (twin charging) if I was to go "all-in" on a modified Ecoboost. The onlyy difference is that I would go...
Wow, even Ford knows their original intake is better than the one they shipped with the original Eco-boost power pack. That intake must have been for marketing purposes.... Hmm, but why the K&N? I guess K&N filters really don't void your warranty.
Also, in regards to your JSON (Javascript)...
Glad the pipes worked out and they went to a good home! I personally have the FP tune with the GT350 intake. Like everyone said, the intake won't matter as much because these cars are MAP instead of MAF.
Personally, if I had to do it over again.... I would have purchased a used COBB...
Wow, good catch... and, my hats off to your tuner (Tune+) for having enough experience to make a good troubleshooting recommendation. I bet a lot of the ecoboom issues are probably related to faulty head gaskets as well.
Man... bad timing for me (getting married this month), I would have swung by, and took it off your hands; especially if you would have welded the bracket back on. Is the catalyst still good?
