I will say this. I got to see a dyno session of a v2+ this weekend. HP numbers were exactly where I figured. But the torque was INSANE. Highest torque number was 520ftlbs. Tuner was smart and dialed it way down from there to a nice 453 on the final tune. The HP curve was very very nice as well...
Couldn't agree more. I've basically stopped asking questions of just about anyone on fb because of how bad the community is as a whole. There are some very good folks out there that willingly share and help out (like yourself) that I would be willing to ask questions in private with. It's...
I definitely respect your opinion and views on things. But in the end you really are the ONLY one who's had results to the claims vargas has made and ran any kind of good ET with the turbos. I've always wondered how much peak boost you made on your runs if you are willing to share that.
I would say go with Tune+. I've had mine tuned for nearly 2 years and about 20k miles thus far. I drive the car daily as well. It's done just fine. Been solid running for me. I ran 13.6 bone stock. After an intercooler, cat-back and a 93 tune from Tune+ I ran 12.6. All on the same exact tires.
Your failures fall right in line with pictures I saw posted up on a FB group about a couple of oil plugs in the motor falling out and causing oil starvation on a couple of blown motors.
Throttle response to me has never felt different. What you likely are feeling is the difference in timing curve between tunes. The stock tune is more set for your daily driving experiences. most poeple live in the low to mid rpm range, so your boost and timing will be in there to keep the car...
Not done it yet. Spoke with Tune+ about it because I wanted an option other than e30 since I did not have a fuel system. I agree it is expensive, but I like the idea of a little more power and less stress on the fuel system.
It's called race gas fuel concentrade. Can get it off of Summit racing. For a 32oz bottle it's about 30 bucks plus shipping. Yes you will need a tune. add the can to a full tank of 93 and it equals out to about 97 octane. Which is higher than e30 on 93 octane wise. Doesn't stress the fuel system...
I get what you are saying. But there are already folks who are REALLY looking into the issues as they have access to looking at many of the blown motors. And there are a few things that have been discovered. That said most of this is being done on Facebook groups which is where most of the EB...
You won't find them though. Because I'm sure neither you nor anyone in this thread have been able to look at a hoard of blown eb motors. Probably very few people have and they would be the ones to have an idea of possible failures. I've seen several theories on what some of the issues could...
Who cares how it failed? You modded a car and the motor went boom. that's a risk you take. Quit trying to dig into something that none of us have any clue about. I swear I've never seen a group of people so frigging focused on engine failures. No other group focuses on motors blown like eb...
I flat refuse to do e30 because I'm not a chemist. I'd rather pay more and do a race gas additive tune and make a little more power. And it's an easier mix for me. Just add a 32oz can of it to a full tank of 93 and done. It also doesn't stress the fuel system like e30 does either.
Wait you are saying perfweld put up a video on youtube going over a full blown motor and you say tune+ helped blow that motor? Or are we talking about somebody different. You're reply was a bit confusing and just want to make sure we are on the same page here.
