Never had a problem with comfort even on hot California days. Actually had more issues with factory leather. I'm sure Katzkin are fantastic but shelling out $1,300 is out of my price point and I would rather spend that money on other upgrades. To each his own.
No on cutting a slit. Wish they sewed it around but it doesn't move after installed. The hole for the magnet on the other hand needs to be trimmed as the hole is too small and does not line up very well. When attached you don't see anything of the hole.
I bought one of the first generation sets about 2 years ago and they fit great. Like I said before the only issue was wear on the welting where the seat belt came into contact and of course only on the driver's side. As you can see I tried to glue a cover over the wear points but to no avail...
I have yet to install the rear seat covers as the ones from my original purchase still look great. Probably get around to it next week. A big plus was that I ordered these on Tuesday evening and got them on Friday. There are a couple things I learned installing this set so PM me and I will...
I bought a similar set and had them on for almost two years. Fit was pretty much spot on with only one problem being the welting on the side of the near the door. The PU leather would rub on it and wear it off. I tried gluing a plastic channel over the rub spots but nothing seemed to stick...
Unfortunately no, due to time constraints bypassed Oatman but, will go see the adoring population of mules there on a future drive. I go to Vegas a lot but have not done Shelby America yet. Hopefully when I attend SEMA in 2022 if things are back to normal.
I'm down with that! Would be so cool. Perhaps a group from the start and the other from Santa Monica meeting half way for a celebration of the Centennial in 2026?
Update as I can never leave well enough alone with this P-51 Tribute Car. I modified the hood stripe to showcase the checkered pattern worn by many P-51 Mustangs such as Big Beautiful Doll.
Here is my latest changes, added checked pattern to the hood stripe and fenders to honor P-51 Mustang like "Big Beautiful Doll" that carried this pattern. Enjoy!
Since I can never seem to leave good enough alone, I added a checkered pattern to the hood stripe on my P-51 Mustang Tribute car to simulate the checkered pattern on several P-51 Mustangs but "Big Beautiful Doll". I also added some of the pattern to the fender as wingtip pattern - Enjoy!
In keeping with my P-51 theme, I had to add the checkered pattern to the front of the car like on many of the warbirds. Got to admit, I'm loving it but, no going back now LOL!
I often passed this country market and liquor store on my way to my daughter's house and decided to finally take a picture of my car with the slice of true Americana!
I liked having a contrast between the body color and the windshield frame. Mirror caps helped to keep the contract going. Black would have been my backup but the frame on the P-51 canopy was silver. Had to keep it to the theme.
