  1. Need dipstick length on 5.0 Coyote gen 3 with 10 qt pan

As for dealers putting in too much oil, I caught Toyota doing this on 7 out of 8 times on my 2.4 and 2.5L 4 cylinder engines. They had low tension rings and I suspect they were over filling as a way to prevent running out of oil. The rings would leak oil into the combustoin chamber and would...
  2. Need dipstick length on 5.0 Coyote gen 3 with 10 qt pan

The dealer, under extended warranty, had to replace the engine with a Long Block produced by Ford. the Dealer then had to move all plumbing, intake and exhaust manifolds and electrical to new block. I was wondering if the long block would need more oil than listed on spec sheet. From others...
  3. Need dipstick length on 5.0 Coyote gen 3 with 10 qt pan

What really bugs me is that when they first gave me the car, the oil was so low that it did not register on the dipstick at all! I did see oil pressure on the gauge but was too happy and distracted as they had my car for 2 months and I was so glad to have it back. After complaining, they said...
  4. Need dipstick length on 5.0 Coyote gen 3 with 10 qt pan

Since this was during an engine replacement that took two days to install, I really hop they did not give it to a junior mechanic. If this was a master mechanic, what does it tell you about their abilities.
  5. Need dipstick length on 5.0 Coyote gen 3 with 10 qt pan

Thanks guys for the measurements. My dipstick is the correct length. what kills me is that how can you replace an engine and fail to put in the required amount of oil? I must add this to a laundry list of failures: Put oily spark plugs on the passenger floor mats and stained them Scratched...
  6. Need dipstick length on 5.0 Coyote gen 3 with 10 qt pan

Had the dealer do an oil change on a new engine. They said they put 10qts of oil and when I look, the stick is bone dry. Compared to the old stick, this one looks too short. They said they would replace it if I can prove it is the wrong one. can someone measure their dipstick from a gen 3...
  7. PP2 OWNER EXPERIENCES - RAVES/QUIRKS

is the only way to remove the underpan plastic air dam is to cut off the plastic rivets holding the PP2 splitter on? Is it possible to remove both splitters with the air dam together without removing the PP2 splitter?
  8. UPR Quarter Turn (QT) oil drain valve and UPR Speed Valve comparison - Thoughts??

My reason for liking them as I too have the first gen UPR drain valve was that I can drain a large part of the oil and only when it stops, remove it to drain the final amount. Much cleaner way than pulling the old yellow plug.
  9. Has oil weight change for Coyote Gen 3?

My 2019 calls for 10qts as full but shows midpoint on the dipstick. Are any of you filling it to the top marker on the dipstick or just running it midpoint? After about 800 miles, it is now at the lower marker. Wondering how much to add and to what level? As for running the 5w-30, I have...
  10. Has oil weight change for Coyote Gen 3?

From what I see online for Blackstone oil reports, my reports appear to have the same levels as 5W-30. Does anyone have a set of reports from oil analysis showing less wear when switching?
  11. Has oil weight change for Coyote Gen 3?

You are right. I was mixing up the 4 cyl turbo with the oil spec for the V8. yes, the V8 track use in my owner's manual does say to use 5W-30 for track use. Why do they say to drain and replace with 5W-20 after a track day? It would have been better if they simply gave a temp graph with both...
  12. Has oil weight change for Coyote Gen 3?

DId they change the requirements it in the earlier years? Post 2021+ might have been engineered to require it. Just want to be safe. My car is nearly 6 years old and I have less than 15K miles on it. It is a daily but I only work 5 miles away so the oil barely warms up in the 10-15 min drive.
  13. Has oil weight change for Coyote Gen 3?

For the 2019, I thought they went for 5W-50 for track. My year they recommend removing it when returning to normal driving. Wonder why.. I also understand they made other changes too. I wonder if some of those changes were required to support the hgher weight. For me, I am not sure I would...
  14. Has oil weight change for Coyote Gen 3?

I have heard some say that the oil weight has changed for the Gen 3 Coyote V8. Obviously I am most concerned with a 2019 . :) Is this true? Is the recommended oil, from the dealer/factory, still 5W-20? Any proof of the change? Is this change related to oil consumption? I have heard that...
  15. UPR Quarter Turn (QT) oil drain valve and UPR Speed Valve comparison - Thoughts??

Anyone have the UPR Quater Turn drain valve? (off is up/ parallel to body. Picture is opened position) Wondering how it compares to the Speed Drain valve. Quarter Turn valve: https://www.uprproducts.com/upr-ford-qt-oil-drain-valve-for-mustang-f150-raptor-edge-explorer-bronco/ Optional...
  16. When Should I Change My Oil

Did you read what is in the owner's manual? pg 449 - 450 says: pg 452 starts with got to pg 453 shows this: If it is a V8, I do not know anyone who doesn't drive the car, shall I say, 'spirited' which , to me, pushes us to severe or extreme. For me, I have a '19 GT PP2 which gets an oil...
  17. UPR Ford Speed Oil Drain Valve - Thoughts?

I have the previous UPR easy valve but the metal wings are a bit of a pain to remove it. this one never exposes any threads when opening or closing the valve keeping the threads clean. I would almost classify this one as a better version of the Ronin valve. the Femco being plastic bothers me...
  18. UPR Ford Speed Oil Drain Valve - Thoughts?

UPR has a new (to me) drain valve. I was wondering what people thought? It uses the same wave washer methodology to attach as does the Ronin valve. Not sure if the wave washer is putting any tension on the tabs on the pan or not. I like that the valve is one piece and they have a screw on...
