I will take the actuator off to see, but I assume the valve wouldn't move properly if it was not seated. Leaning towards adding some brake lube between the spring and valve seat. Just wondering if anybody has successfully done anything about it.
Ended up abandoning stripping the chrome from the existing handles and pulls. Nearly impossible to strip without damaging the plastic and found a set of DH handles on eBay for ~$120. Going to buy the cheap Amazon carbon fiber stick on covers for the pulls. Seems like they fit really nice on the...
You might be right. I agree the black looks much better. Not a fan of black and chrome on the interior especially for a mustang. Gun metal or some type of brushed metal would have looked much better OEM.
I've used Chem Guys VRP and I think it's decent for tire dressing, doesn't sling, semi-glossy, but not over the top glossy. Agreed it doesn't last extremely long though. I like it because I feel like it's a more general purpose dressing and I use it on plastic trim and I like to dress my door...
Yeah $250 would be much easier to swallow lol I'm going to try a few different methods to strip the chrome, but honestly think I might just bite the bullet and get the DH parts. At least I know they should last. Painting, even after stripping the chrome, I'm concerned with longevity with them...
That might be the route I go if I cannot strip the chrome from the S550 pulls and handles. The cost is painful though just to delete the chrome ~$400 to do both doors. Only reason I was looking to paint them black was because I bought some trim panels from a GT350 with the alcantara inserts so...
I know the Dark Horse door handles and pulls are a direct fit, but has anybody successfully chemically stripped the chrome from them for painting? Never had great success painting over chrome even with light sanding and these have a lot of small crevices that would be difficult to sand in the...
Did this exact modification yesterday following the pinout diagram on page 2 of this thread. Connector on the PCB of the old mirror was a little difficult to remove (although not that experienced in doing a large connector with that many pins), but was able to finally get it. Snipped the 5-pin...
I know. Wanting to upgrade my base cloth seats and seeing a bunch of cheap take-offs from S650, but the S550 take-offs are going for triple the price if not more.
I did confirm the seat foam is slightly different between S650 and S550. The covers might physically fit over the foam, but...
Got my hands on a Mach 1 digital dash. I assume the main difference with this one is the unique start up display animation and 180mph speedo similar to the Bullitt?
This thing is making a ton of noise for me when I push in the clutch. Got under to look at it and no easy way to get the pressed pin out to remove the weight. Anybody have a part number? Powertrain is still under warranty so I'll probably be taking it to the dealer.
