  1. Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Race Car Build and Track Adventure Thread

Man that's way cooler than how I broke mine. For me I slipped on tile after wiping up olive oil with my sock as a dumb 20 year old. Feel better Kevin!
  2. GT350 1:30.144 PB at Willow Springs Big Willow (any tips on how to get to sub 1:30?)

Oh I was just joking that Willow Springs is a terrifying track that'll make people shit their pants. No need to a race suit at this point, but I do find mine comfortable. Best if you're using them with a coolshirt because they get warm fast in Socal, especially when you're sitting on grid for 15...
  3. GT350 1:30.144 PB at Willow Springs Big Willow (any tips on how to get to sub 1:30?)

Having instructed with NASA Socal for a few years here's what I'm seeing: General: 1. You're moving your hands a lot rather than keeping them at 9 and 3. For example, turn 1 you downshift with steering input and grab the bottom of the wheel. I'd recommend downshifting with as little steering...
  4. GT350 vs Mach 1 vs Dark Horse (Same Price Now?) – Real Drive Comparison

5-6 week lead time lol They've had my motor since Sept 2024 and won't return emails. I had to go to a different builder for a new motor because I want to move on with my life.
  5. Thinking About a 2016–18 GT350 Project Build — Am I Crazy or Onto Something?

Every CPC conversions I've seen is done with a 5.2 block. Also, the S550 GTs are all aluminum blocks.
  6. GT350 Build - Autocross Time is Great but Track Time is Better

I think you 100% made the right call to pull the motor when you did. Those bearings look as bad or worse than mine after it had let go, minus the set of bearings where the catastrophic failure happened. Seems like you did the right thing and got ahead of it. As far as RPG is concerned, it's...
  7. California Racetech RT4119WTHR-111 Seat

Asking $2,000. This retails at $2,839 not including shipping and tax. This was never used other than to move the car twice sadly. Racetech's sizing guide showed that I'd need a wide and tall seat. I'm 6'2 with a 36 inch waste, but most of the height is in my legs making the harness holes a bit...
  8. California GT350 Intake Manifold

Asking $500. Another item I'm just cleaning off the shelves. This came off the motor at 8,500 miles when the motor let go. SoCal pick up only as this is another item that would be horrendous for a private party to ship.
  9. California OEM GT350 Headers and Cats

Asking $800. These have about 8,500 miles on them. I took them off when the motor blew. They're in great shape, I've just had them in my garage for a while. Pick up in SoCal only as these would be miserable to ship and probably cost the buyer $800+ just in shipping costs.
  10. Thinking About a 2016–18 GT350 Project Build — Am I Crazy or Onto Something?

I'd recommend listening to what @WItoTX said if you want to change things like the flywheel. I wouldn't touch that with the voodoo. It's too problematic. Also regarding the 2019+ engine, there's no actual data I've ever seen to indicate that they are more reliable. That will likely be...
  11. Is Rpg a good shop?

I'll start this by saying Will is a very nice guy and I think his intentions are well-placed. With that being said, RPG has had my engine for a year to diagnose and fix a cracked head. The cracked head was pre-existing when I bought it we discovered. He took it back, no questions asked which I...
  12. GT350 Build - Autocross Time is Great but Track Time is Better

Boy am I familiar with that. When I got my first replacement engine it was exactly that. I've been waiting so long for the builder to address the issues that I've given up and decided to go just buy a new engine and do the conversion now. So you've found the GT350 intake is limiting then? I've...
  13. GT350 Build - Autocross Time is Great but Track Time is Better

First off, I love your attention to detail in this thread. I love reading a good long update, especially when it pays off in the end like it seems it has! I'm now in sort of the same boat as you. I've officially signed myself up to a CPC conversion. Outside of re-pinning the harness, was there...
  14. 2018 GT 350

Four people I know in socal, mine included, have blown up. Three are gen 2s. One of them is on their third engine as well. As a fellow Californian maybe he just hasn't had his state-mandated allotment of granola today. I often forget mine, but I can barely stay hydrated so what do I know.
  15. Colby's Gt350 Drag Build and Adventure Thread!

I did, but they came with the ARH kit. I will say I hate how long ARH made the extenders. Not sure what they were thinking there.
  16. Colby's Gt350 Drag Build and Adventure Thread!

They've seemed like good quality headers. Fitment is the most important aspect in my opinion and there are no issues there. Their customer support is crap though, but I've come to expect that in this industry. I've had no IRS issues like you mentioned. The use case for drag racing may be...
  17. My Journey Starts Here... GT vs Mach 1 vs GT350

Somehow I missed this in my post. Just driving around town you should be fine with the GT350. The reliability issues I've personally seen have all come from hard use so you shouldn't have to worry as much. You can't go wrong with either car though. Having driven both on and off track, Mach 1 is...
  18. My Journey Starts Here... GT vs Mach 1 vs GT350

Gen 1 track rat here. All Voodoos have basically the same issues. I've seen many let go. Doesn't really matter what year. OP: If you want something that you don't need to worry about, get the Mach 1. If you don't mind the higher chance of engine failure, the GT350 is great.
  19. New Shelby American GT350

You kind of outline the problem I have with SA as a whole. Every time SA releases some car, they tease it like it isn't just a 5.0 with a blower. The weight the name used to carry was performance, now it is resale value to an extraordinarily small percentage of the population. If this was an N/A...
