My gen2 car with a gen5 whipple made 756/596 on a 3.5ā pulley on e85 through a Magnum XL trans.
Do you know how much timing you were seeing? I would bet that 6r80 and 9ā is soaking up some of the power there.
It needs to download from the Ford Performance website, does your laptop have an internet connection when you're connected to your car? Using the correct email and password for the Ford Performance website?
This will be fun to follow! I know it will be well documented with pictures! I'm also wondering if it would have been easier just to pull the engine out of the car? Considering you have the lift, you could have pulled it out the bottom and lifted the car in the air. Might be a bit easier working...
I think the issues with the gen5 blowers were more in the Dodge camp with the Hellcats. I don't recall seeing anywhere near those issues on the coyote platform. Gen6 is still relatively new, but as with anything is there a chance of issues? Maybe. Likely? Nope.
That first dyno graph is from my car running the canned whipple tune on 93 fuel. š I can assure you itās not a drawing.
Coyote loves the boost in all forms. I can tell you the whipple on the street with a stick car is loads of fun. Pretty good at the track too!
Renegades are find for the majority of people. Iāve been beating on mine at the track for 4 years and theyāve been great. Probalby over 100 passes at thIs point launching off a 2-step. Car makes mid-700s currently.
Best 1/4 MPH has been 136.54 with me rowing the gears (Magnum XL) with the car at 4170lbs on a 3.5ā pulley (same pulley as the dyno).
I actually think the power makes sense. Every pound of boost on e85 is ~15-20hp. My car made just over 700 on 93 at 20* of timing at 11psi on the aggressive...
I ordered my gen5 in November 2020 and it showed up in February of 2021. I donāt recall when they came out to say if mine was an older tune or not. Either way, it was fast on 93! Made 708rwhp at 11psi.
I suppose this is why my fuel change to e85 didnāt pickup any power at the same boost level...
Sweet setup! Do you know what RPM the pull went to? Iām always curious to compare tvs vs whipple in the upper RPMs.
*side note, my stock whipple tune on 93 gave me 20.5* of timing. I think a data log even showed 21* every once in a while! I always ran boostane when racing or beating on it.
Appreciate the info @NGOT8R ! Quite a few things going on in that trunk space.
Do you have any idea of how many feet of main ground and power wires are included in the kit? I know they are bundled up all nicely in your photos, so no need to lay it out and measure. Ballpark is fine.
