i suspect that during the install of my springs, the subframe "may" have shifted a bit, because my alignment is off(-1.75/1,33,total toe is 0,31 and thrust angle is 0.3) which is wearing my driver's side rear tire on the inside,i'll assume that the factory rear camber arms have enough adjustment...
my plan is 555-4438(dowels)......but possibly 555-4437(support bushings) and FORD PERFORMANCE M-5972-M,steeda says "no nvh",but some forum members report evident "nvh""...what the real story?
I had steeda minimum drop linears with ford performance track struts and shocks installed at a dealership that does "RTR CONVERSONS",mainly because of the less that 1 in drop,I chose linear because that was what I felt I was use to with the factory springs.while the "ride quality" is not as...
MY 21 GT(A-301) IS STREET DRIVEN ONLY,MY "ROAD FEEL" AFTER INSTALLING TOWER BRACING,PP-1 LOWER K-BRACE AND SHIELD(ALL FACTORY PIECES)WITH 19X10/10.5 WHEELS AND PS4S TIRES(255/275-40-19)MY CAR HANDELED MUCH BETTER..IT JUST FELT TIGHTER AND MORE CONTROLED!
a lot of people get rid of their "performance pack wheel/tire" set-up, sometimes you can purchase a nearly new set(19x9/9.5 with 255/275 tire) and you won't be able to tell the difference..except for the better handling, add in the strut tower bracing and lower k-brace and shield and you're golden!
sometimes you can find factory parts on "F/B MARKETPLACE" or even ebay, just be sure to get all 3 parts, tower brace,k-brace and firewall reinforcer, the lower K-BRACE and splash shield is a nice addition also(these parts are stock on PP-1 cars)also be on the lookout for factory wheels,they're...
I had clunking and rattling front and rear after having steeda minimum drops and ford performance track struts/shocks installed at a ford dealership,a trip to valdosta,ga (steeda) confirmed "coil contact",the fronts were wrapped with a spiral type cushion material with a mesh type material on...
as an update to anyone concerned,I took the car to steeda in Georgia, the problem seemed to be "coil contact" front and rear,JAMIE installed the correct "covers' and 99.9% of the rattle from the rear is gone,98.9% of the clunk is gone from the struts,it was a very nice drive(except for Atlanta...
I wasn't able to see any obvious damage, but my car has 22,000 so that may be the case,I spoke with "RAY" at steeda,he suggested checking the four "sub-frame bolts"(the blue ones) they were 129ft/lbs...so,changing back to factory shocks netted zero improvement...that leaves "camber arm,rear...
on Monday,I removed the "ford performance" rear shocks and re-installed the factory parts with correct jounce bumpers(as per steeda's instruction sheet)I checked end links, exhaust parts,etc...there was nothing obvious...the rattle was reduced a little, but it's still there,it was my first time...
