Completely agree. It scares the crap out of people and some are so bad, you can hear them a block away and it truly sounds like gunshots.
Absolutely ridiculous and how anyone thinks that they are "cool" with that are kidding themselves. Everyone is pointing and laughing.
My 2018 barely has anything on carfax. One recall when it was new and a couple warranty repairs. I do all my own oil changes as well as brake work so all of it isn't listed. Annual oil changes with Amsoil and have 27k on it. Next to flawless it's entire life so far and zero oil consumption...
check the inservice date, you can't buy one on a vehicle that is older then 10 years. 2017 could possibly be more then 10 years old.
My 2018 wasn't sold till 2020 new so mine is covered till 2030 as I bought a 10yr Premium care.
Well I dont know if these pads are considered glazed. Rotors are definitely rusty but its been in my garage since November.
Old z26 pads obviously on the left, new on right.
I ended up seeing someone's post about rockauto offering OEM rotors for $350 each so I grabbed them.
As you can see...
Thanks, Ill take a look at them and compare with the new. Im assuming like powerstop said that they are probably glazed and when wet, thats why they slip so much at first.
If that was the case then everyone who has driven in the rain would have experienced it who has driven in the rain. So far not 1 person here has had the same issue so Im assuming no.
I just ordered all new pads.. for $138, Ill replace them next week and see what happens from there. Not a lot...
I try as well to not take it out but sometimes you just get stuck in it. I bring my car up to my camp and sometimes the day I have to go home it is raining. It is what it is unfortunately sometimes but no, it is like this everything it rains. And will do it from stop light to stop light...
But if it was a brake fluid issue, wouldn't this happen all the time and not just when it is raining?
I have about 10k on the pads, original rotors and around 27k on the car as an fyi. Changed out the pads because of the oem brake dust.
So my 18 gt350 has the z26 all the way around.
What Ive noticed starting last year is that there is zero braking in wet conditions for the 1st 2 seconds and then it hits hard. Dry conditions the car stops and responds just fine.
It is a little scary when you press down because someone in...

You're better odd creating a custom harness that runs to your amp and plugs in prior to the factory amp in the driver's kick panel area.
I had someone on here send one and it took care of everything you want to do.
There is no law requiring manufacturers to do anything regarding availability of parts beyond the factory warranty. That's been a myth for years requiring 10 years etc.
