Understood. It seems the Ford parts system is misleading because it lists a cap in the parts list and diagram for a VIN of a mag ride 350. Why doesn't a cap fit a mag ride hub?
An O2 sensor just outputs voltage equal to the O2 level. It does not have a not ready state. Even in a case of a bad O2 sensor where a malfunctioning sensor output stops toggling voltage on and off, the PCM detects the missing signal and generates a code. If the car is stuck in an open loop...
Nice work. The operating resistance on the light that cause the code was low enough to cause the BCM to think the wire was shorted to ground. A false code that could have been ignored in hindsight. A resistance measurement between the wire and ground will show the difference between the light...
I suggest wiring a potentiometer to the PCM sensor input while working on the project so you can vary the voltage and confirm the display is reading the sensor. How did you know the sensor was bad?
The S550 has two antennas for the keyfob. One is in the trunk, which is the primary, and one is between the seats in the console. The one in the console is used for reading dead keyfobs that a driver places in the cup holder. The antennas are also used to read the TPMS. I never saw info antenna...
Connecting the pressure sensor VREF pin to a different VREF pin on the PCM than the correct VREF pin which is pin 6 will not work unless by chance the pin you connected to is the same reference voltage as pin 6. Connecting pin 3 of the sensor, the output, to a different pin on the PCM than the...
Some modules have more than one connector like the PCM and BCM and the workshop manual is missing identification of the connectors. It's a big hole in the manual I can't believe Ford missed it. Can you draw a picture of the wire connections with the pins of the senor and PCM labeled how you...
Sorry I had a typo. The pin for the oil pressure sensor input on the PCM of an Ecoboost is C1551E pin 5. The pin for an oil switch is C155E pin 9. Do you mean your connecting the pressure sensor to C155E pin 9?
Nice. Does your PCM C175E connector have the oil pressure pin 57 populated or are you installing a new pin? Does the connector for the pressure sensor have pin 3 already connected to the PCM Vref pin?
I remember reading that switching to pressure sensor requires HP Tuners to enable the sensor and even that might still not work because the PCM might be missing a map.
