I believe sometimes the glass simply does not know which way to fold or lay, the foam block is there to assist in directing the glass to fold/lay a certain way relieving the stress on the support bars.
For the ones that don't want to deal with the dealership (i totally understand), I helped a guy from New York do this repair at home. I'm just waiting for him to post our instructions in the form of a write up, this does include the infamous foam block trick as well. He should be posting within...
I was able to find the instructions for the clip replacement, still working on the foam block installation instructions. If I can't get my hands on the original illustration I will make one. :D

I hope you are exaggerating. The TPMS retraining process takes just a couple minutes and can be done on the spot when you drive in. It is also possible that you don't have any TPMS sensors on the fronts but to discover this you need to have the retraining service done.
Believe it or not, Evil Minion, this is the absolute best way to get the escalated attention you are seeking from the dealership. To be honest, I find it well above and beyond the norm to have a Ford Rep actively helping randoms on some random Mustang forum. Good work Deysha!
Mr. Stara, I'm glad to hear your repair is still good.
Everyone with this issue should simply visit your local Ford dealership and have them submit a request to the Ford Hotline to replace the entire top ($7k repair) due to the rear window support bars repeatedly coming loose during operation...
You may have something going on with your control arms or EPAS, if you are able to duplicate the noise I would simply drive by the dealership and show a service advisor. After you both hear it he will look at you funny, scratch his beard, mumble some things about warranty and how long it will...
I have the same noise... when at full steering lock. Totally expected to get some tire skip as the front geometry is changed at full steering lock, especially when in reverse, in the cold and the tires are like hockey pucks. Don't turn so sharp and see if you still get it.
Mine is debadged (5.0's and GT on back) and lowered - 3 roads you may see me on: Jupiter, Plano Pkwy and GBT. The next GTG I see happen locally I will try to join and introduce myself.
