I had looked into this for my ā22 Maverick, compared it to an Escape; which is the same platform.
There are a couple things you should look for, that I didnāt see you mention:
1. Do the seat motors need to be changed? In my case, the power seat motors do not have the position sensors in them. So...
What you need to figure out is what is the minimum for the LCD backlight to come up. Those pins 8 & 3, may or may not be enough. Just saying, if you do those and it doesnāt light, that doesnāt mean it doesnāt work; just might need some type of signal from the CAN bus.
They will prorate a refund if you end it early. So the previous owner most likely did that. My dealer said that is what typically happens if car is traded in. For private sale, depends on whether the seller feels included it helped the sale.
Yes, you can. I just did it for my ā19 last week. There is a thread on this topic.
There are New ESPs and Used ESPs. You cannot get the New one. That is why some say you canāt get a ESP. They are particularly correct. As far as Granger, they decided to not offer ESP on cars older than a certain...

Was debating 5 or 6 years, but the prorated tipped it for me. Who knows what prices will be in 5 years. Plus Iād have to buy down the deductible again.

Finally done with its ānew to meā steps: state inspection and oil change complete.
Decided to also have alignment checked and wheels balanced. Everything was in the green. Found a slight bend on the inner lip of one front rim; must have met a pot hole it didnāt like.
Got Ford ESP PremiumCare 6/40.
In the end, you just have to go with your gut.
First car you looked at or not, if itās what you want, get it.
Some of us, including myself, bought sight unseen. I had videos (running and such) and pictures sent. I talked with owner and had a great rapport. Went with my gut, am very happy.
One...
State inspection and oil change complete.
After looks of thought, as Iām not an extended warranty kind of person, I got the Ford ESP PremiumCare 6yr/40k with disappearing deductible (i.e. $0 deductible when my dealer does the work, $100 deductible anywhere else). The most expensive route to...
