Thanks for the reply! Sorta, I bought a 2020 GT a year ago. I didn’t notice the decel rattle at first, but then eventually I did and at first it didn’t really bother me but I hyperfixated on it and now I’m worried it’s damaging my engine every time it happens, lol. It drives totally fine though.

Did I you ever find a fix or does your car still make the noise?

I couldn’t hear anything in your video, but your description sounds exactly like the noise my car is making with a Roush catback (but with x pipe). Did you ever figure it out?

Reviving an old thread :) did changing the vct fix it? Mine does the rattle on decel when it’s cold. Goes away when it’s warm.

I’d take mine in but it’s my only car so it’d really need to be worth it for me to give it up since I need it for work. That’s why I am wondering if it’s something I can live with every once in a while, or if it’s indicative of something catastrophic happening down the road.

From what I can tell, yes. It hasn’t happened since, my guess is there was some false knock going on from the extra vibrations and it was pulling timing.

In case anyone has this issue in the future, the issue was the hangars were rubbing against the sway bar. You could see the marks on it. I cut 2 inches off the end of the axle back to push it back farther so it wouldn’t rub. Looks better now anyways since the tips aren’t sticking out as far as...

Yeah I was thinking the rattling was just some part against the exhaust. I’m more worried about the rpm dipping, I don’t want to hurt my engine. I’ve always thought of catbacks as pretty harmless since they don’t need a tune.
