One thing to keep in mind that hasn't been mentioned is putting the power down with a PD blower. I'm a 10r80 car with 325 ps4s tires, so different gearing but I have to limit torque output via the tune for first and second gear to around 30-40% and I can still spin the tires.
Keeping temps...
For gaskets I would highly recommend the thick crushable remflex gaskets. I was unable to get mine to seal up with oem or the kooks gaskets.
Be sure to follow the proper torque sequence as it made a huge difference when I was fighting to get mine to seal with the "normal" gaskets. I used a shop...
I do now as I don't drive it all that often. But I dallied a 2012 with the two year pattern, upgraded to an 18 and made it a year before it needed to be replaced. Didn't have a garage or covered parking at the time so that could have played into it.
To be fair my 18 is cursed and spent half of...
I'm in Texas and the stock batteries only make it a year maybe two due to heat. AGM have been great for me.
That being said mines about 5ish years old and its starting to struggle when its really hot in the engine bay. I am planning on switching to the new sizing from the s650. There is a...
Not exactly the same as your not truly controlling boost, but this can be done via tuning using PCMTech, I was thinking of getting the smoothboost to limit power but ended up tuning myself and setting up torque by gear + custom os so I could switch between power levels on the fly.
Might be...
Nope, its a replica. Prices were all over the place but I ended up getting one around the 1200 mark from one of the more reputable looking shops on ebay.
I ordered one of those s650 take off sets and its not going to just be a simple swap over. I installed the bottom of the drivers seat and stopped.
There were some minor differences on the clips outer clips, and the inner velcrow was different, s550 has velcrow running all the way parallel with...
I can confirm this, I have an 500kr Hood and it clears the gen 5 whipple with stock motor mounts. The closest spot is at the rear of the center vent as the whipple extends further back than the vent. Going off feel theres around .75-1 inch of clearance. I dont run the rain trays but it would...
Currently setup to run 75 EOI, but there is some other logic I'm running into that is limiting me. I originally though it was due to dropping fuel pressure but now that has been resolved I'm still seeing DI DC lower than I'm requesting.
I might have to pick your brain at some point on the DI...
Thank yall for having that available, Saved me a ton of time and work.
Fixed the P0463 code, I updated my post.
Interesting on that 10 second ramp down, Before I switched my focus to this project I was working on dialing in the GDI side specifically trying to make sure it is fully utilized and...
Finally had some time to work on this project. Got the harness all put together and its working great on the fuel demand side.
I need to start digging into the tune side as a quick WOT test without changes was around 10-20 psi over desired fluctuating wildly and had hit around 110 with 73...
I did the 72 Hour approach myself and used this tool to download everything for my vin. Service manual, wiring diagrams, Connector pinouts.
If your somewhat technical it can be used to pull everything for your vehicle as pdfs in a folder structure, There is also an html flag so you can get it...
I sent in the throttle body. They didn't explicitly say what they did, but looking at it when I got it back there was a small paint pen mark near the adjustable set screw and it was filled in so it was no longer accessible. So I would assume they did some kind of adjustment or calibration on it...
I had to do all four of the vct/vvt solenoids pretty early on well before the whipple went on. But my primary symptom was a surging/bouncing on its own when idle for 5-10 seconds before recovering or stabilizing, sometimes small rpm swings but sometimes large. It would stall if the surging was...
That's is definitely a simpler and more elagant approach.
I sent a dm, I'll take one if available. I'll still probably give mine a try for the giggles but yours looks to be a better long term solution.
I did some digging on the dual FPDM with diagnostic response. It doesn't look bad at all. Should be able to be done with raw hardware, or microcontroller based if desired.
Supposedly the signal from the PCM to the FPDM is just PWM, The diagnostic response back to the PCM is also just PWM...
Sounds exciting!
Some parts have started arriving, I managed to find a take off 22 gt500 assembly but it has a different part number than your post. Still waiting on connectors but Ive also found a github project to automate pulling the service manuals and wiring diagrams from fords service...
